“Comfortable, Clean and Friendly”

We had a great stay at An Island Chalet. The simple and charming cabin was extremely clean, the kitchen had most everything we needed for meal prep. The view of the bay was beautiful. Rob was very friendly and engaging. He made sure we had extra wood for a nice campfire fire at night and even rolled his family's grill over to our cabin so we could cook some steaks. The grounds were nicely kept. Campobello is a beautiful island and I feel like we stayed at the best place on the island. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch and sitting around the campfire, we didn't turn on the TV once. Great proximity to the Roosevelt International Park as well. All in all, a great stay and we would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for one week and totally enjoyed our stay. The cabins are relatively new and the interiors are very clean thanks to Fay and her wonderful work ethic. The ambiance is wonderfully bright and cheery. Our only negative about the property was the small trees, bush and weeds that had grown to a height that was starting to block the view of the bay. Rob the proprietor even mentioned on our first day there that it had grown to a height that was blocking the view and needed to be trimmed but never came out of the house to do anything except cut the grass once, very disappointing.

Advice to people visiting would be to request a list of information regarding garbage removal, towel and toiletry acquisition, an island map with local destinations and information. There is a Tourist Information booth at the entry to the island, but it closes at 6:00pm so if you arrive after that time you have no information to browse preparing for your first day on the island.

If you like to BBQ, beware there is only one portable BBQ for the 5 cabins. Although the unit was new last year it is very heavy and the wheels are broken off so to move it is very difficult so you might consider taking your own if you plan to do a lot of barbecuing. We also found that the kitchen cooking utensils were scant so take your favorite fry pan, knives and salt and pepper. if you are doing your own cooking. Ladies take your hairdryer.

Overall a very pleasant experience.

These cabins are clean and have very friendly owners. The location is fabulous with great sunset views and very close to our favorite spots on Campobello in the Roosevelt Park. I would highly recommend these cabins - everything you need is there. Planning my next trip there for next month. Off season is also great - stayed here in mid-April one year and it snowed. Can't beat the off-season rates and a nice warm cabin to come back to after spending the day hiking or walking on the beaches.

The cabins are lovely, very clean and the view is magnificent.
Very quiet and private yet only minutes from the bridge, visitor center and other attractions.
Would be nice to have the owner more present in case of problems. There is no phone in the cottage and the cell service is sketchy at best. Some info about the cottage, the property, and the island would have been nice. Thanks to the post office staff, we managed to locate the Wi-Fi hot-spot (libarary) and the one resturant still open.
Could not locate a safe way to make it to the beach at the bottom of the hill and were disapointed as we were specifically promised it was there and reachable.
But all and all a very pleasant stay.

Campobello Island is a fabulous place close to the U.S. and relatively easy to get to. It is a gorgeous quiet island. There aren't many places to stay on the island, and An Island Chalet is wonderful. There are only a handful of separate chalets perched on a grassy hill looking right out over the water at other islands, with eagles nesting in the distant trees. It is within walking distance of an old lighthouse where you have a great view of the tremendous Bay of Fundy tides, and near the Visitor's Center just across the bridge from the U.S. No wait times crossing the border. The chalets are new and extremely clean. In our chalet, we had an upstairs loft with a queen bed and a downstairs bedroom with two singles. Full kitchen, living room, TV with satellite, beautiful porch and chairs for relaxing. No phone, but our cell phone worked. Owner not in sight when we pulled up and we thought front door of chalet was locked so had to call owner, and get advised to push hard. Also would have been nice to have some visitor information, information about grocery stores, and a map in the chalet, although they were available at the Visitor's Center when they were open. So only very mild complaints. Met the owner when he was mowing the lawn, very nice and friendly. Enjoyed visiting Roosevelt summer home, doing a whale watching trip, visiting the lighthouse at the northern end of the island that you can only access at low tide (wear tennis shoes and have hands free for climbing ladders and rocks), and driving the road through the park to beautiful, foggy, moody overlooks. What a relaxing trip! Stay here, you won't regret it.

I decided to venture to Campobello Island for a two day winter retreat. An Island Chalet was the perfect place to spend a couple of days just to get a way and enjoy the solitude of the Island. The view from the porch is breath-taking. One day was quite stormy, but my cabin was just the place to hunker down on a wicked winter day, so clean and cozy. Rob is a wonderful host, very accommodating and knowledgeable of the area. I can't wait to bring my husband back with me next time I stay at An Island Chalet on Campobello Island. Thank you.

very disappointed, the cabins were alright, we were charged $10.00 extra then what we were quoted. No B.B.Q, they only had one and it was broke, 1 bbq for 5 cabins, couldn't have a fire, no housekeeper on day 2, not enough towels. the beach was terrible, very dangerous to get to the beach, lots of broken glass and very rocky. owners not very friendly.
