Two night stay in July. There are not many choices on Campobello Island for lodging or dining. Maybe one other motel and some cottages on the north end. Many I guess stay in Lubec, ME and see the island for the day. Motel was clean, comfortable and had pleasant, helpful owners. Nice bath and towels. Decent tube TV ( I've yet to see a decent picture on a newer digital flat screen) with a large but unusual selection of channels. Location was very convenient to the FDR property, only grocery store and pharmacy and ferry to Deer Island. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

The CWWM is a no-frills motel with lots of heart. New owners Jim and Fran have created a clean, comfortable and welcoming home-away-from-home for visitors to Campobello Island and the surrounding areas. Each room has 2 queen beds with quality mattresses, a table with 2 chairs, free Wi-Fi and standard cable TV, refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker and sliding glass door to the balcony (2nd floor) or patio deck (1st floor); 2nd floor rooms have vaulted ceilings. The bathroom is clean and functional, with vanity and a shower tub. Water pressure is strong and temperature is even. Unless you ask for something different, maid service will make your bed and change out your soap, plastic cups and (soft, not harsh and institutional) towels daily. Climate control is via a fairly quiet wall unit, but for a good part of the year you can just open the door for a little while!

Staying at the CWWM feels more like you are visiting with friends than staying at a low cost motel (and, btw, CWWM is the lowest priced accommodation on the island). Freshly ground complimentary hot coffee (or tea options!) awaits you in the office every morning -- fill your bottomless mug and take it with you for the day, if you like! Fran and Jim live on-site during the summer months and will help you plan your days and even make inquiry calls for you, as necessary (no phone in room). There is lots to explore, and astounding natural beauty to appreciate on the island, in the surrounding waters, and across the bay.

CWWM is not a waterfront location. Rather, it is central to the island, very near the T-intersection where the island’s entrance road splits into the two main roads on the island. This makes it very easy to stop by as necessary during a full day of enjoying all the island offers, and convenient for crossing the border to Lubec, ME (USA, with your passport) as well as taking the ferry to nearby Deer Island. There is a grocery store, pharmacy and gift shop across the street from CWWM and the two island restaurants are very nearby. If you prefer to relax with a good book, a glass of wine, or the warm sun on your sleeping face, the CWWM property has Adirondack chairs scattered about the lawn areas both in front and in back of the motel. And, there's a nice gas grill in back available to motel guests, too!

So, if you are looking for a spa resort, CWWM is not for you. Here you will get an economical, safe and quiet place to relax and sleep well while enjoying one of the most beautiful places on Earth. You will be welcomed by owners who care about you and will show you a hospitality usually experienced when you visit good friends. Make reservations -- they are often full!!!

Room Tip: Second floor rooms offer balcony and vaulted ceiling, and are probably a little quieter, but you must be able to climb outdoor stairs. The Motel Office is the center door on first floor.

Central location to the island. Clean and spacious room with TV, microwave, fridge, coffee machine. Helpful staff. Quiet at night for a good rest, comfortable beds. Simple and it was all we needed. Reserve ahead of time so as not to be disappointed. I would recommend this motel.

Fran and Jim, the owners, could not have been more welcoming! The motel is central to everything. Rooms are clean and comfortable. They even provide full menus for the 3 restaurants on the island as well as a list of all area restaurants in Lubec, Maine across the bridge. The price was a good value. Should we come back this way we would certainly stay here again!
