“A great place to chill...”

A comfortable cottage with all one needs to relax. I needn't repeat the details for cottage amenities and contents already mentioned by other clients. I will say though that the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern.

Cottage #3 (basically identical to 1 & 2) gave us all the standard cottage comforts, an incredible view and access to Grand Manan's natural wonders. You will be at most 20 minutes from either end of the island.

There's a beach below, accessed by stairs down the cliff front. There is more solitude than one can imagine - basically you'll find a handful of people on the 1/2 + kilometer long beach at any one time.

For non-Maritimers with limited experience in our weather, Grand Manan probably personifies the phrase "if you wait 30 minutes the weather will change". In July/August, come with clothing for 15 C, foggy, misty weather and the flex to be able to strip down for 28 C in the same day. The beauty of the island is as much the tempermental nature of the climate/weather as it's raw physical beauty.

Tammy, the proprietor, is very easy-going and pleasant and willing to offer options and ideas for day trips.

The beach below gave a constant sound for surf - helps set the mood for relaxing. I can still hear it as I write this.

What more could you ask for in a vacation spot. We stayed in cottage #5 and it had everything we needed. Linens, pots, full compliment of cutlery & dishes, coffee maker, toaster, kettle and even some coffee & tea to get you started! The rooms in the cottage were a really good size. The beds were very comfy and a full-sized water heater ensured that there was plenty of hot water for showers and baths.

The owners had a supply of games and books to read in the cottage for rainy day entertainment. There was even a nice TV and a DVD player. They seemed to think of everything including a large binder full of information about Grand Manan and a

Outside, there was a BBQ and deck chairs on the deck. A hummingbird feeder and bird seed feeder were kept full for quiet outside entertainment and the beach...that gorgeous beach...easy access down a short path and a set of stairs to a beautiful sandy beach just begging to be explored.

We couldn't have asked for a better vacation spot. Grand Manan is beautiful and has so much to offer. Our tour guide at the Swallowtail lighthouse said, "Grand Manan is a hard place to visit only once." and he is right. We'll be back!

Room Tip: If you need a larger cottage, don't be put off that cottage #4 & #5 are a duplex. We stayed...

WOW....I am a very picky person when it comes to booking and then arriving and hoping I've picked a good spot. Well I did.We had cottage #1and its ocean front and a perfect view of a little fishing village. There are stairs to get to a sandy beach, lots of rock cliffs to see. Kids enjoyed climbing them. Cottage has everything inside.Towels, linens, pots and pans. Even a coffee maker and coffee. Great bathroom nice and up to date, very clean.Beds were comfortable. The owner has thought of everything. Laundry up at main office..50cents a load if u need their soap. Each cottage has its own fire pit, front deck with 4 chairs even a foot bath bucket to wash off from the beach. We did a whale tour, not too many out when we were out,but did see a basking shark,a seal and many birds. Went through a neat museum,a nice gift shop called Pette gift shop (spelling?).Also saw yellowtail lighthouse another cute gift shop. Ferry fide here was easy and on time. Lots of food to choose from in the cafeteria. For my van its @$30 both ways, I prebooked online before we came. Found Stanley's beach to be the best one for us with 2 kids, rocks, beach glass and we found 25 sand dollars. So much to see here its all just beautiful. Glad to have found this island on our way to PEI. The cottage website pictures are good but not as good as seeing it in person. There's even going to be a beach wedding here, just below the cottages. A real gem of a place. Will recommend this spot to everyone. Oh and a nice grocery store @10 min drive back towards North Head. As well as a nice bakery across from the hospital. Great hospitality.

We stayed at Pa's place this past Sept 2013. We enjoyed a family vacation and had lots of room for 7 adults. We especially enjoyed the porch over-looking the wharf. Loved watching the fishing boats coming and going. This older home was very clean and very comfortable. This was our first visit to Grand Manan and loved it. We highly recommend Pa's place for families that need room and comfort!

It was are first time to Grand Manan and its beautiful! We went on a whale watch with Whales -n- Sails Adventures. It was great! We saw Humpback,Finback and Minke whales and we saw Harbour Porpoise and Harbour Seals. It was 4 hrs long and and we saw stuff the whole time out and on the way back we had free fish chowder and there was coffee and hot chocolate.

We stayed at the Beach Front Cottage. They were very clean, everything you need to cook and the beach is right there to enjoy. Tammy and Mike the owners were very nice and very helpfull

Room Tip: Cottage 1,2,3 you can see the water the best.

this is the third year returning to Beach Front Cottages - and it's not that we did not enjoy other places we stayed, it's just that this suits us so well. We will be back next year! The grounds have amazing vista, pheasants wandering around, yellow chickadees visiting the bird feeder, a nuthatch one day (!), whales in the bay, and so much more! thank you Tammy and Michael!

We have been vacationing on the beautiful Island of Grand Manan nearly every year for over thirty years. We have stayed at various places, all of which were great, but our favorite place to stay is here at Beach Front Cottages in Seal Cove. The cottages are clean and fully equipped and Tammy is cheerful and very helpful. As we quite often stay on the Island for up to two weeks, having the use of the laundry facilities on the premises is very useful. The beach in front of the cottages is the best beach on the Island, and the cottages also have the best view of any place we have stayed. If you visit Grand Manan be prepared for scenery so beautiful it almost hurts the eyes, and the fresh, salty air is next to none. After a day spent either visiting lighthouses, walking along the beautiful cliffs, kayaking, fishing, swimming, beachcombing, shopping at the gift shops, visiting the museum, dining in the restaurants and more, relaxing with a drink on the cottage porch enjoying the sunset can't be beat. Also a trip to White Head Island on the free ferry is a great day out and a chance for a picnic, although they do have a take out on White Head if needed.

Room Tip: Cottages #1, #2, and #3 are all on the front overlooking the ocean.
