A comfortable cottage with all one needs to relax. I needn't repeat the details for cottage amenities and contents already mentioned by other clients. I will say though that the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern.
Cottage #3 (basically identical to 1 & 2) gave us all the standard cottage comforts, an incredible view and access to Grand Manan's natural wonders. You will be at most 20 minutes from either end of the island.
There's a beach below, accessed by stairs down the cliff front. There is more solitude than one can imagine - basically you'll find a handful of people on the 1/2 + kilometer long beach at any one time.
For non-Maritimers with limited experience in our weather, Grand Manan probably personifies the phrase "if you wait 30 minutes the weather will change". In July/August, come with clothing for 15 C, foggy, misty weather and the flex to be able to strip down for 28 C in the same day. The beauty of the island is as much the tempermental nature of the climate/weather as it's raw physical beauty.
Tammy, the proprietor, is very easy-going and pleasant and willing to offer options and ideas for day trips.
The beach below gave a constant sound for surf - helps set the mood for relaxing. I can still hear it as I write this.
