“Don't Order The Shrimp Stirfry”

The place was clean, bright, and nicely decorated. After reading all the reviews, I was disappointed with what I ordered. The shrimp stirfry was terrible. The few shrimp on the plate of rice were the size of dimes. There might have been six shrimp if that. The sauce seemed to be from a jar, heated and poured over the rice and few shrimp. It was very thick and way too sweet. There was plenty of white rice, in fact more than a normal portion. Maybe this was to makeup for the lack of decent shrimp.
Stay away from the shrimp stirfry and go with something else.

Our school group of approximately 46 people attended a wonderfully catered breakfast, lunch and dinner during our stay on Grand Manan Island. The service for our large group was excellent. The staff accommodated our large group needs with efficiency, friendliness, smiles and fantastic food. We have already planned our return for fall of 2014 as our meals here were one of the highlights of our trip. Both students and staff thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. We highly recommend the Sailor's Landing restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy exceptional food and service on Grand Manan Island.

Sometimes you find a surprise where you didn't expect it. Sailor's Landing, which shares the new post office building across from the ferry ticket office in North Head on Grand Manan, serves a very good meal for a reasonable price. It's a large menu, suitable for kids and adults, but we stayed with the seafood - chowders and grilled or friend fish. Nice little place, and welcome because so few places are open for the evening meal.

We arrived at the restaurant at 11:25. Our order was taken around 11:40. The tables around us, all of whom arrived after we did, started to receive their food. Some tables arrived, ordered, ate, and left, all while we were waiting for our food. No one came by to say "sorry for the wait, it's coming, we had a delay" .... anything to acknowledge that we had been sitting there for so long. After one hour and 10 minutes (and asking about it twice), our food finally arrived! And, guess what ... THEY GOT MY ORDER WRONG. At that point we were so hungry, and we had to catch the ferry, so we just ate. And frankly, if the order had been wrong and the food had been good, maybe I wouldn't have been quite so annoyed. But it was just plain bad. Over-cooked, greasy omelette, soggy toast ... just bad. The one redeeming feature of the meal is that the waitress comped us our meal since mine was wrong. Fine, but I wouldn't go back there for anything, nor would I recommend it.
