“Perfect place to stay”
Reviewed 6 September 2013

We spent 2 nights at St. Martins Country Inn and absolutely loved it! This Victorian B&B is amazingly furnished and so inviting. My husband and I enjoy photography and St. Martin's was a definite destination. You could almost spend all your time just photographing the Inn and its wonderful grounds. Breakfast was wonderful. We ate dinner here with the owners doing the cooking and serving as well as running the inn. Our starter soup was with fresh veggies from the garden - amazing! Michelle, the host, was kind enough to prepare a veggie entree for me - baked portobello mushroom stuffed with couscous, feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and topped with 4 cheese. In comparing prices with other places to stay when selecting a place to stay, this Inn is very reasonable. We'd go back in a heartbeat if we're lucky enough to visit New Brunswick again.

We travel a lot to Canada because we have wonderful relatives on Prince Edward Island. The trip is about an 11 hour drive. We wanted to cut it in two. We booked the St Martins Country Inn based on other reviews. I have always wanted to go and see the tides and this fit perfect. The Inn is lovely. Rooms are so clean and decorated beautifully. We actually stayed in the Carriage House section right next to Inn. It worked great for us as we booked 2 rooms with relatives and did not want to disturb other guests. We did however get a couple of kids next to us that were quite loud. But that happens. Michelle Le Clair is the Inn Keeper. She was and is the most pleasant person. Everyone that works there has a wonderful attitude and it shows how much they like their job. We are going back next summer and can't wait to stay with Michelle again. Breakfast was so good. We had pancakes and bacon one morning and the next eggs, home fries, ham and fresh fruit. They make the best homemade breads for toasting.

Room Tip: We traveled with my husband, 23 year old son, 21 year old nephew and his dad. If I had kids I would...

We found this Victorian Inn while exploring during the early stages of our Eastern Canada vacation, after staying in St. John NB the night before. Although we didn't stay at this beautiful inn, we did have a nice lunch here, with the smell of fresh-baked breads in the air, and were overall very impressed with the house, the grounds and the rooms, which we checked out after our meal, The food was light and very tasty and well-prepared, and we chatted with the owner as we ate, (we were the only customers there, as it was during the week). The overall "atmosphere" of St. Martin NB reminded me of what the English seaside must look like most of the time, overcast and foggy, which somehow added to our experience.

First the receptionist could not find our names on reservations. The rooms were clean and so were the bathrooms. The decking though, was not safe, some rotting boards were patched, but should have been replaced. We did not have supper at the inn because there was such a mixup with our meals last year. The breakfast consisted of two pancakes and a couple of overripe grapes. We will not be staying for a third year.

We just spent one night (August 3, 2013) at this beautiful, serene, well kept Inn. The owner was very friendly, informal, and made us feel at home. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Gluten Free Friendly!!!

Room Tip: The Bayview room was worth the extra few dollars. It was spacious with a large sitting area and a wi...

We had dinner only at this lovely inn last weekend. The dining room was romantic.
It had a wonderful view of the bay. The food was excellent and a good value. We (2 couples) were the only guests and were served my the charming owner. We were also
given a tour of the guest rooms (very well kept and quite spacious). All in all, highly
recommended.

This was our third stay at the Inn and we'll keep coming back. The Inn is a marvelous old ship builder's home, has beautiful grounds, a well-behaved and friendly inn dog, and gracious and accommodating owners. The area, while a bit isolated, is within easy driving distance of several interesting attractions, not the least of which are the murals in Sussex, about a half hour or so from St. Martins. The owner loves to cook and is the principal chef for their inn restaurant; the food was outstanding!
