The cottage itself is really beautiful, very close to water in Bonavista, and can enjoy beautiful sunset! It has 3 bedrooms, large living room, full kitchen, and even breakfast is provided, quite rare in Newfoundland! It is very clean and beautiful!
But the best thing for this cottage during our stay is the wonderful Hosts, my Dad hurt his leg during our trip, and with big difficulty working when we arrive, when Sharon and her husband saw it, they recommend we take my Dad to hospital, at that time it is over 9PM already, but Sharon and her husband lead us to hospital, and not just that, she found a wheel chair for my Dad to use, lead us on how to register and even talk to the nurse about my Dad, it is a small town and she knows everybody!
Fortunately my Dad got proper treatment after seeing Doctor, which relieve his leg pain very much, thus he can continue the trip with us!
Sharon really, really saved my Dad! She even message us a couple of times to ask for my Dad at very late time, Thank you Sharon!!
I will definitely recommend this cottage to anybody who wants to visit beautiful Bonavista in Newfoundland, the cottage itself, the view, and the wonderful hosts will be really a treat during your trip!
Sharon has a great place. The view is spectacular. She is so friendly.
I would recommend staying here.
A lovely overnight stay in this lovely suite of this Cottage building. We chose the suite as the other 1 and 2 bedrooms units are gone. Very home like. Large kitchen and cosy bedrooms. Right in the heart of Bonavista. Very easy to find. Looking right into the habour. We even saw an iceberg from the window. Very comfortable for travelling family. Kitchen facility was great. Highly recommended to stay for at least 2 nights as there are so much to see around Bonavista area.
When we arrived (late) we made a quick phone call and Sharon was at our accommodations literally was there in less than 3 minutes. She walked us through her new addition (a 1 bedroom suite was separate 3 piece bathroom, fully functioning kitchen and the basics: coffee - real and instant/coffeemate, tea, sugar, butter, eggs, 2 types of cold cereals, jam, wifi, cable tv, towels, shampoo, dishes, pots/pans, You name it, she had it. When we rented, we needed 2 beds, and Sharon's suite had a bed and a Devenport that folds down into a bed. She did warn me before I rented that the Devonport certainly was not going to be as comfortable as a bed, and she was right, but I booked the last 2 bed accommodations in Bonavista during Iceberg season. Her place as perfect. I would be quite comfortable living here. It was clean, new, and homey! We meet the whole family and they were all delightful. Her children were lovely! I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to anyone.
I did not actually stay with Sharon and Brian, but they helped me change a tyre when I got a flat tyre outside their place. The whole family came out to help. They were so lovely and helpful to a young girl far away from home. I'm sure you would see that generosity if you stayed with them.
We stayed in the 1 BR well equipped cottage. Clean, refreshing with everything you need for a nice get-away. The views from the porch were very nice. We could see a glacier across the bay from the porch! Easy walk to see the sea and watch the sunset. Could also walk to town if you wanted to do that. The best asset though is Sharon and her family. What wonderful hosts! She gave lots of information on things to do and even made a note during my reservation that it was our anniversary. She had us a " happy" for our anniversary upon arrival. What a pleasant surprise that was. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks again Sharon and family!
I can't tell you happy we where to find this unbelievable home.
The host Sharon has the most pleasant, friendly and accommodating personality you would ever want to meet. Her Newfoundland accent and her laugh are alway something we will remember about our visit to Bonavista.
The home was clean, comfortable and had a spectacular view of the Bonavista Harbour. We even had the opportunity to witness icebergs floating by the cottage.
The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed to prepare our own meals.
The bed was super comfortable and perfect for a good nights sleep after a very just day touring the area.
Make sure to check out PKs Restaurant on the Main Street. The service is a little slow but the food is well worth the wait. Also, make sure to stop by the Dairy King on the way to the Lighthouse. They have a great view perfect for enjoying a custard cone.
Thanks Sharon for your hospitality !
