Just does not get any better than this... the ocean, ice burgs, salmon fishing, great food all with peace and quite in luxury. This was our forth trip to Tuckamore, this time we took our Son, daughter-in-law and their six month old baby... Priceless.

Our first fly fishing trip booked from England was at this wonderful place. The lodge beside an attractive lake had exceptional views and our bedroom was well-furnished with a good ensuite bathroom. The food was plentiful and well-prepared but too much carbohydrate for our English tastes. The dining and sitting rooms were very pleasant places to spend our time. Barb made us very welcome and it felt like we were staying with friends. Her team was first class. Peggy looked after our food, adjusting the quantities to our tastes. Randy drove us to the Viking Settlement, to Dr Grenfell's house and to the airport. Brendan was an excellent fly fishing instructor and very good company. We travelled with him by a little tin boat each day to where we fished in spectacular locations. He took us to his own settlement, where we saw their own Bayeux style tapestry. It was a real tonic to be in this beautiful place and we will return. The only downside was that we did not catch a salmon! Perhaps next time?

A brilliant trip for first time snowmobilers..we were expert by the end thanks to Randy's brilliant guidance. Then back to the welcoming Lodge, Peggy's homemade cooking and the best Newfewie hospitality. If you want to recharge your batteries or just have an amazing adventure with the family..this is the place !!

If you want to spoil yourself while traveling on business, pleasure or while you are 'roughing it" on your next outdoor adventure. Well you better give Barr or Celie a call. Having traveled on end of Newfoundland to the other, the Tuckamore lodge is the place for a great night sleep, a great meal as well as great conversation. Every room has its own TV, radio and everything else a hotel room would have (most rooms have only showers). The beds are very very comfortable with high grade linings. If you choose to eat supper, you won’t be disappointed. Peggy will prepare a mouth watering meal each and every time. (Yes I've been there once or twice...). You won’t be disappointed. The staffs are very professional and more than accommodating. Worth every Dollar!

Found this place by mistake but I would say that folks should make it a destination. The lodge is very comfy, sits on a great lake from which you can see the sunset. There are trails through the woods nearby and much wildlife (we watched moose as we ate breakfast). The lodge staff are fantastic and almost too accommodating. We loved the place so much that we decided to take a day at the lodge instead of trekking. The ladies asked what we'd like for lunch and whipped us up a feast -- we were the only ones for lunch but you'd never have known it. This is a great base from which to see the peninsula. They will set up any activity for you if you aren't sure where to go and how to do it. Wonderful!!!

My husband and I stayed here this past August and absolutely loved it. From our very comfortable sleep, to drinking wine sitting in the adirondack chairs on the veranda, to having an evening swim just steps from the lodge, and having a lovely home cooked meal in the company of interesting and eclectic guests, we enjoyed it all. Our only regret was arriving a little late in the day and unable to take advantage of the kayaks at our disposal and only spending one night. This place is peaceful and tranquil and I would have loved to have stayed longer. It may be a bit pricy but it was worth every penny.

I wish we had been able to stay longer at this wonderful Lodge. The location is serene and beautiful. Barb and her staff are extremely friendly, it felt like we were at a friends house. We arrived around lunch time but hadn't made previous arrangements for the meal but this was no problem. We were fed like royalty with the best chowder we have ever had, a plate of sandwiches and dessert - not bad for showing up unannounced. Dinner was a gourmet delight. The decor and accomadations are first class.
