“A place to stop after Port au Choix Historic Site”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

Great lunches. 4 of us (from northern Illinois) just happen to find it after visiting Port au Choix Historic Site. Attractive exterior and nicely decorated interior. Excellent chowder and very good moose burgers. Staff was great - friendly, courteous, and helpful. Reasonably priced (as compared to other Newfoundland food prices). If you're driving on highway 430 it's worth the short drive to Port au Choix to eat there. If we get a chance, we would love to go back.

“Excellent!”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

4 of us had a delicious lunch here--the chowder was excellent and fresh shrimp salad sandwiches were great. 1/2 of the restaurant was soon filled with folks on a bus tour, the staff are very efficient and took care of everyone very well. Thank you!!

“Wonderful find”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

Can't get much fresher than shrimp caught right in this bay. Mussels and scallops also excellent. A great salad .. with broccoli, peppers, and a great homemade dressing. The piece de resistance ... Figgy Duff for dessert. Local artwork and various carvings made this a unique place to eat.

“Good Chowder”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

The chowder here was very good though a but heavy on celery. Lots of fish and a generous portion. I'd asked for a caesar salad without bacon, and had to return it when they brought it with bacon, and the second one still had bacon bits hidden in it. One person in our party was given all shrimp rather than half shrimp and scallops. He was brought an additional serving of scallops - very generous! Dessert was wonderful.
