A well operated hostel in a good location for hiking and seeing Newfoundland towns - good kitchen facilities and lounge - beds are good - We had a private room for two. The dorms sleep six and from all comments we heard were positive. All age ranges welcomed - managers keep conversations going and personalities in line which is a super skill in these environments. Congratulations!!!!! Camping is encouraged and on the property. Managers were knowledgeable about Newfoundland and culture and managed to provide answers to all questions. Super clean. They are on a well so respected the water usage - hot water always. Managers striving to get higher points in rating for hostels and accommodation. There is no tv However IT ISNT NEEDED - I DONT THINK ANYONE HERE WOULD USE IT BUT A CHEAPIE WOULD GET YOU THOSE extra points. Also, a ramp up to first floor for a handicap. Just a suggestion because of our conversation about your desire to get more points. Bedroom on the main floor definitely serves the need of the handicap and the washroom has all requirements for handicap. Wifi was good. No complaints about anything here. All in all, a super hostel and we would highly recommend.

This place! I loved this place. Quaint and quiet hostel with a cozy living room for gathering around and chatting with fellow guests. Everything you need in the well appointed kitchen and free breakfast. A nice little slice of Newfoundland culture. Super clean and steps away from the Skerwink Trail which is SUPERB!

This was one of the best hostels I've stayed at. It was super clean, the breakfasts were great, and the staff very helpful. It was in a great location - within close walking distance of the Skerwink trail, which is a must if you stay there. It also has a great kitchen - good for preparing your own meals. I'd highly recommend you stay there.

I stayed at this hostel for 2 weeks and I felt absolutely at home. The managers Gavin & Martha are such open minded and welcoming hosts. The hostel itself is very charming - it looks more like a bed&breakfast rather than a "typical" hostel. All the of the other guest were very nice and I shared good company, beer and tonnes of laughter.

Trinity East is a small little harbour - very scenic! While there you should try to hike the Skerwink Trail which is just breathtaking! If you have some more time - try to grab a coffee at the Two Whales or eat some smoked Salmon Bagel at the Mercantile in Trinity.

I would always come back to this magical place!

Danke

Although I was the only guest staying (there being only a few days left in the season) I was happily surprised at the warm and friendly company the two hosts, Martha and Gavin, gave me. These two really go out of their way to make sure their guests have the most pleasant stay possible!
In regards to the building itself, the hostel has spacious dorms, cosy beds, large but homely living spaces and all the furnishings I found necessary.
The surrounding area is gorgeous albeit sparsely populated. There are several lovely trails nearby which I found enjoyable to hike. There's also a nice cafe nearby which serves delicious food. There's a small convenience store nearby too.
Thanks guys!
