We recently spent 2 nights at the Fisher’s Loft Inn. We were on the top floor in the Green House which overlooked the ocean. Our room had a queen size bed which was very comfortable and clean. We had our breakfasts and dinners at the Inn and we can’t say enough about the meals. The food was excellent. We definitely would recommend this Inn.

We booked this inn after reading about it on Fodors. It is a 3 hour drive from St. John's Newfoundland, on the Bonavista Peninsula. It consists of several different houses with one main house where there is dining and one larger building which doubles as a small conference center. The area is spectacular and peaceful and the inn is well-located for touring the entire peninsula.. The only downsides are that the rooms are somewhat small, with Queen beds and no AC, which was not a problem when we were there.

They have an excellent restaurant -- probably the best in the area. Only drawbacks are that you have to make dinner reservations, there is a set menu every night and it is pricey. Still, to watch the moon rise over Trinity Bay while you dine is just fantastic.

If you ever plan a visit to Newfoundland then spending a few days in the Trinity area will be the highlight of your trip and this Inn is really a magical place to spend those few days.

Room Tip: We understand there are a few larger rooms with King beds so book early.

We enjoyed our stay at the Inn but found it was a little out of the way from the activities we wanted to do. The weather was not the best so we were inside and even though it was a suite it was a little cramped for three. Loved the toiletries in the bathroom. The dinner was lovely as was the breakfast. Only stayed one night as we moved closer to Trinity for the second night. This is our second time at the Inn.

This is NOT a bed and breakfast. It is a first class inn with all the amenities at an extraordinarily reasonable price. The view is from heaven. The units are exquisite with wi fi and TV ( if you must). The cuisine is superb ( be sure to book dinner with your reservations). And the Fisher family are wonderfully gracious hosts. Stay no less than two nights if you possibly can. You won't want to leave.

Room Tip: Ask for a one bedroom suite.

Some people rave about Fisher's Loft Inn. I'd say it is good, but not worth the money when it's compared to the competition. I've just spent two weeks in Newfoundland, staying at six different B&Bs and I'd rate at least two of them ahead of Fisher's in both absolue and value terms. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is good. But, when the charge is 50% more than others that you have enjoyed more, one has to wonder. And don't for goodness sake leave anything in your room, as they'll charge you for its return! Not a move you'd expect after a $1000+ stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a Garden room if possible as it will save you quite a climb to return to your room after a m...

This is by far the nicest inn we have ever stayed at. The units are beautiful and there is much attention to detail. The staff are very polite and helpful. The restaurant is by far the finest we have ever eaten in. The dinner includes many courses to satisfy your taste. The views are by far the best. The deck is very comfortable with the rocking chairs. It is a difficult place to leave once you are there you just want to keep coming back and we will.

Room Tip: All the rooms have an excellent view of the ocean. We stayed in the units next to the dining room wh...
