We spent two nights at this hotel and had a lovely time. The view from our room was incredible. The hotel had provided binoculars which we used to scour the ocean for whales (didn't see any) and for the Sherwink Trail (a wonderful hike nearby). The room was luxurious. Breakfast was not included in the price but was fantastic and good value at $16 -- hot breakfast, plus croissants or muffins, plus yoghurt and cereal. Dinner (also not included) was nice but didn't blow us away for the money, plus the multiple courses make for a long service so don't make other plans for the evening if you are having dinner.

Fishers' Loft Inn was the perfect cap to a 16-day summer vacation in the Atlantic Provinces. The accommodations are topnotch, the views spectacular and the food was beyond expectations. We stayed in the conference center and had a terrific view of the water and the hillside. We hiked the Skerwink Trail and we were blown away. The trailhead is quite close to the Inn's property. The owners/staff couldn't have been more helpful about the art, literature and culture of the local area. Our only regret was that we could only spend two nights here, but we'll be back.

Room Tip: If you are interested in a great view, choose a room in the conference center that faces the water.

My husband, 8 year old son and I spent 4 nights at Fishers Loft. We booked a suite, on the ground floor, with a marvelous view of the ocean. The suite was spacious and comfortable, with an excellent pullout sofa bed and very nice linens. At first, I was worried that our location -- right next to the Main House with the dining room -- would be noisy. But it was absolutely fine. It's a quiet place. You can just walk right out your front door and head off to the ocean's edge. Takes about 10 minutes. The Skerwink Trail was amazing, and again, we headed off for the day from the inn, no need to take the car. The family that owns the inn is right there on the premises, serving breakfast and dinner, talking to guests. It makes a difference. There are many small touches that add up over the course of several nights. In addition to breakfasts and dinners, we also ordered a box lunch and it was quite delicious, too. While most of the guests are couples or groups of couples, there were a few other families and children were welcome. We loved our stay and highly recommend Fishers Loft.

Room Tip: A suite with an ocean view is delightful.

We stayed in this lovely inn for two nights and could not have been more delighted. The location is absolutely breathtaking with views of the water and homes scattered over the hills. The buildings are simply and tastefully furnished, clean and comfortable. Our only suggestion would be for slightly nicer pillows but that was very minor compared to the view from our window, the sound of foghorns on a rainy morning and the warm comforter on the bed.

The breakfasts were great, with excellent food and plenty of variety on the cereal/fruit bar. We had dinner one night in the dining room (in another lovely old building) and it was fantastic! Salad from the gardens on the grounds, halibut cooked to perfection - and the staff were friendly, helpful and a pleasure!

We will definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to return to Newfoundland & Labrador again!

We recently spent 2 nights at the Fisher’s Loft Inn. We were on the top floor in the Green House which overlooked the ocean. Our room had a queen size bed which was very comfortable and clean. We had our breakfasts and dinners at the Inn and we can’t say enough about the meals. The food was excellent. We definitely would recommend this Inn.

We booked this inn after reading about it on Fodors. It is a 3 hour drive from St. John's Newfoundland, on the Bonavista Peninsula. It consists of several different houses with one main house where there is dining and one larger building which doubles as a small conference center. The area is spectacular and peaceful and the inn is well-located for touring the entire peninsula.. The only downsides are that the rooms are somewhat small, with Queen beds and no AC, which was not a problem when we were there.

They have an excellent restaurant -- probably the best in the area. Only drawbacks are that you have to make dinner reservations, there is a set menu every night and it is pricey. Still, to watch the moon rise over Trinity Bay while you dine is just fantastic.

If you ever plan a visit to Newfoundland then spending a few days in the Trinity area will be the highlight of your trip and this Inn is really a magical place to spend those few days.

Room Tip: We understand there are a few larger rooms with King beds so book early.
