Owner description: Filled with renditions of popular Newfoundland and Labrador songs and tunes, sprinkled with one-liners and wit and occasional display of culture, this group of five has become one of the most widely-attended acts in the whole province. Almost by accident, and practically overnight, the ANCHORS AWEIGH band has found its way onto the list of "things-to-do" for local residents and visitors alike.

A fun night out in Gros Morne. A bit of music, some jokes and good company. Be sure to pick your tickets up by 1 pm on the day of their show or otherwise they will resell them!

This was our 3rd time visiting Rocky Harbour and taking in the concert from Anchors Aweigh. We were not disappointed. The band lost a singer/guitarist but gained a singer/drummer. Their repertoire has also expanded and changed somewhat . We loved the mix of old time rock with the traditional Newfie music . This band is top notch. The admission however has changed drastically, whereas before there was a cover charge of $5 , now it costs $25 p.p. Still, it was worth every penny!!!!!

Food was pub-style, so it was adequate. The service good. Bu we didn't go there for the food, but for the evening's entertainment.
With a title such as Anchors Aweigh, I wasn't expecting much. Was I wrong!
The stage was held by 5 excellent musicians - probably too good for folk music! The compare was very competent, amusing and professional. He made the event truly memorable.
The entire evening was a lovely distillation of British Isles, Irish, Scottish and Newfoundland traditional folk music. A delight! It re-enforced my opinion that the culture of this island is a million miles apart from its neighbor to the south, the USA!

The musicians provided a glimpse into the heart and soul of the people of Newfoundland. We enjoyed the entire evening of music and comedy. I only wish we could hear the Ugly Stick when we are back home. The group brought together the entire room and anyone planning a visit to Rocky Harbour should make sure this show is on their agenda. Thank you for the wonderful evening.

Wonderful and definately a "must"if you are in Rocky Harbour! You have to order your tickets way before you go though because they sell out quickly! So many people were disappointment to have to go on a waiting list of over 40 people!
This show is so funny and well done!
