This hotel is nice, but seems a bit dated. We checked in at the lodge no problem and then headed to the Villa. The room was nice but seemed a bit dated. The heat controls in the room didn't work very well. It was so warm in our room that we had to open the windows. Now, we weren't there to stay in our room for the whole weekend but there was no TV in the bedroom which for me, personally, was terrible because I like to watch TV while I'm in bed falling asleep. Also, the TV channel selection was quite terrible. BUT, like I said, I wasn't there for the TV. The hotel is awesome because it is right at the base of the mountain. So, if you are planning on skiing for your entire stay it is perfect. We did not have a car while we were there and could not really go anywhere to eat other than the lodge. I have to say, there food was really bad. The only thing I had there that was half decent was the breakfast. It would be nice if there were more selection in the way of restaurants surrounding the location.

It is a wonderful place to stay very clean and very quiet. It's a great place to stay for a relaxing week away. Me and my Boyfriend tried the zip lining there and stayed there it was amazing. It's in a quiet area and of you go there durning the summer months it's not as loud as the winter months because thier not so busy. But if you plan on different things to try their double check to make sure the option was there. We booked zip lining and bike trails and after driving from St. john's we got there and they told us the bikes weren't ready to use. Very Disapointed about it put a damper in our time there but we traveled into conor brook to adventure in there.

We arrived early for a 3 day stay and spent the first half day on the hill before checking in. Check in was easy in the lodge. Location is on the hill and you can ski or board to the door. Rooms are well appointed but may have been roughed up by earlier visitors. May need a bit of repair in the near future but easily over looked with the rest of the features. We will certainly plan on coming back.

Excellent spot. Really clean, cheap room comes with kitchen basics eg micro wave, and really spacious. Will be staying here every time we return. Seriously though you walk thirty seconds an your at the ski lift

The hotel always sets the tone for my vacation. Even if you are only spending few hours sleeping in the hotel, it is still an important part of the vacation experience.
The Villa is basically a big building with suites. We went there during the summer time.
The bed sheets were very old. The furniture is the same and not very clean. I am not going to guess for the carpet. If I was 20 years old and going there for a ski trip...probably I would not have cared...but I am not 20 and have a toddler that likes to touch and lick everything. So it required lot of work to make sure that he was not touching anything dirty.
I really don't recommend this place for 150-200 CAD a night not even 80 a night.
We had friends staying at a bed and breakfasts at the Humber Valley Resort for the same price. I would highly recommend this option.

Hello lepetitmonde!

While I know your review was made sometime ago, I thought we should write you to let you know we've made a number of upgrades since you last visited with us!

New beds, bedding, living room furnishings, flooring, kitchenwares, window coverings, and lighting fixtures are just a few of the things that have been replaced or revamped over the past two years!

While we agree, things were a little dated back in 2011, you should see us know!

Come see us again soon,

My stay at Marble Villa was a pleasant one. The suite was nice & felt clean - 2 bedroom, 2 bath with full kitchen.

The only drawback is in the summer months, it isn't busy (located at the ski hill) so there isn't always staff around should you need assistance.

We found this property through a great deal of online searching and our efforts were rewarded. This is a ski resort with several nice looking ski runs directly behind the lodge. During our summer visit there were only a couple of other suites occupied which made it very restful and quiet. I understand things are usually busier on weekends. Our suite had separate living and bedrooms and there was a sofa bed in the living room. We had a full kitchen, two TV sets, and a large bathroom. The air conditioning was excellent and was very useful during the daytime. The view from our window was of a small mountain with the ski slopes plainly visible. There are plenty of nice places to walk on the grounds and there is a nice little playground for kids. For dinner we drove into Corner Brook (about 5 miles) and for breakfast we visited Tim Horton's which is right down the road. We also enjoyed driving through some of the nice residential areas we discovered on the other side of the highway from the lodge. As this is primarily a ski resort, there is no front desk per se in the summer thus it is not conducive to walk-in traffic. I suggest you phone ahead. This location is perfect for a quiet getaway, but don't expect a number of summer activities since it is designed for snow skiing. The location is a perfect midway stop between the Nova Scotia ferry at Port aux Basques and Gros Morne National Park.

  • Liked — Lots of space, quiet, nice view
  • Disliked — Limited dining options close by
