“Absolutely charming”

If you are looking for quaint picturesque beauty, look no further than Trinity, NFLD. If staying in a beautifully restored historic home is to your taste, you will thoroughly enjoy the accommodations at the Artisan Inn. We spent four marvellous days in Trinity this past long weekend and stayed in Campbell House, one of several vacation homes that comprise the Artisan Inn, which is owned and operated by Tineke Gow. The historic house, which dates from 1840, was spotless, warm, comfortable, bright and charming. Four of us shared the accommodation and were all very impressed. It is set on a hillside overlooking Trinity Bay, so you have beautiful views of both the Bay and the town of Trinity from its many windows. We enjoyed several meals at the Twine Loft Restaurant and were impressed with the service, care and attention we received each time. My husband and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary this month and were greeted at dinner the first night with champagne and a card wishing us many happy returns – a lovely and unexpected surprise. Tineke and the staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable about Trinity and the many things to see and do in the vicinity and further afield. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Inn and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing, quiet, peaceful holiday. Absolutely charming.

Not sure what people seen in this place. They place guests all over town in cottages they have purchased. The breakfast is then served at the main building, We probably should have done more research The cottage was clean with nothing wrong with it. We also thought being asked to do a positive review was off base but now I can see why this place has so many positive reviews.

Newfoundland offers many unique styles of accommodation and we do encourage guests to research any place they stay either through that business's website or Trip Advisor before booking to avoid a mismatching of expectations.

During check out, we encourage guests to submit a review of their stay to Trip Advisor, as reading about all types of experiences of former guests is important to those planning future trips. The opinions expressed in all guest reviews, just like the one here, are their own and we appreciate all types of feedback provided.

We stayed in the Trinity Cove room in the Barbour House mid October. Unfortunately it was pouring rain the first day. The room was large, with wifi and tv. There was an area upstairs for coffee and tea, there was a bedroom beside us but it was empty on the night we were there hence we didn't experience any problems with the noise but there are earplugs available.
Trinity itself is lovely but not a lot to do there especially off season.

Our room was gorgeous and comfortable, as was the lounge on the first floor where I sat with a book and a glass of wine. Staff were great and had lots of information about the area attractions. We had dinner at the Twine Loft where both the service and the food were excellent. It definitely deserves its "Where To Eat In Canada" recommendation! Wish we had been staying longer.

The entire staff is wonderful at the Artisan Inn. They truly care about making your stay as comfortable as possible. My room was very clean, spacious and quiet. I was on business and needed to spend hours on my computer. They have wireless internet and cellphone service is available. The room set-up was perfect. Breakfast, which was included in the cost of the room, was delicious both mornings thanks to Fred. The Twine Loft has a wrap around deck that is directly over the water. They even have blankets for you to wrap around yourself on the cooler evenings. Upstairs, the Twine Loft has a liquor licence and provides a great location to unwind and have a nightcap. I look forward to returning for some R & R with my husband.

Room Tip: Sit on the deck and enjoy the sunset.

Dined at the Twine Loft as the last great thing to do on my Trinity List this summer. Saved the best for last! We enjoyed tasty lamb, succulent salmon with fresh salad greens. There was plenty of hot food, lovely ambiance and suburb service . Ended the evening chatting with tourists from Switzerland and the owners Tineke, John & marieke even joined us .......what a nice way to end the season!

Me and my girlfriend went to Trinity for a 2-nights short trip on 8th of October.

That was a great trip started from the check-in time at Artisan Inn. Once we arrived there, a lady guided us to the studio we booked, then showed us what attractions we still can go and enjoy at this season.

We had been to lots of places in Newfoundland such as Gander, Twillingate, Ferryland, Corner Brook, Marystown...... We always need to ask someone in the place we stay "Where we can go?" At Artisan Inn, that was the first time that we were given the information about the place we trip to.

We stayed at the studio which next to Twine Loft. We really enjoy having supper at there. The food was perfect, the chef even helped me to change the menu since she does not want me to have the same food for different night. Really appreciate it. We sit at the deck outside the restaurant watching the sunset before supper. That was a beautiful memory.

If our parents can come to visit us next year from China, we will bring them there.
