My husband booked our room on a travel website. When we checked in they said those rooms have no view and would we like to upgrade for $15 a night. Glad we did our room was very spacious, with a comfortable bed, 2 very comfortable chairs. Bathroom was nice, with sink outside, which we like. Guessing it was recently remodeled.
Front desk staff were very helpful and full of suggestions on the area.
Outdoor pool was heated, but pretty cool the first day. The next few days it got warmer as the weather got hotter.
They had bikes and helmets that you could use, along with lots of playground stuff for kids.
They also, have an area down by the lake..be sure to check it out. There is parking, so you don't have to walk down the hill. Nice gazebo and dock, if you want to go for a swim in the lake.
You could walk to town, but we drove. Got a pizza to go and ate at the park area downtown by the lake. They have a nice walking trail along the water too.
Did eat at the restaurant one night. Glad we made reservations. A tour bus came in and they had most of the space. Service was slow, but friendly. Food was good.
If booking, I'd check which type of room, since they have many options.
Only suggestion, they should fix the doors to the decks.. They squeaked and banged. Felt bad for neighbors when we out in the morning.
If you are in the area, besides the Cabot Trail, be sure to go to Alexander Graham Bells museum. Who knew all he did, besides invent the phone.

We were a group of 3 couples that stayed the night at the Lodge, to celebrate our friends 35th wedding anniversary. This is 4th time we stayed at the silver dart and come back because of the amazing view from your room ,overlooking the beautiful Baddeck Bay. We had diinner and breakfast and the food is very good. The staff are very kind and friendly and go out of their way to make your stay is satisfying. Amanda looked after our reservation ,check in and check out and she did an amazing job as always!

The lodge sets just on the outshirts of the small historical village of Baddek and a short walk to the , Alexander Graham Bell musium. Make sure you take in a sail on "the Ameba". It leaves from the wharf for a 11/2 hr sail out along the bay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that overlooks the Bay.

We had seen a few mediocre reviews of The Silver Dart but we were very happy with our choice for a two night stay. We took one of the chalets at the top of the hill above the main hotel with a fantastic view of the Bras D'Or lake from the room or the deck outside the picture window. The room was very nice. It has obviously been decorated to make it brighter than some of the pictures we had seen online and this may have been done in a bit of a hurry as there was paint splashed on the wooden beams and the floor lacquering was patchy. The bathroom still needs some minor decorating e.g the back of the door. However, overall the chalet was clean, well appointed and very comfortable. The restaurant was very good for both breakfast and dinner and we found the food to be of good quality and reasonably priced. The service from the waiting staff was excellent despite them being very busy with a coach party during dinner. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. We would have no hesitation to stay at The Silver Dart again or to recommend it to our friends.

Room Tip: The chalets have a wonderful view.

We enjoyed our stay at the Silver Dart Lodge. It was clean and the grounds were beautifully kept. The staff at check in were excellent with tons of suggestions for things to see and do. We did not get a chance to try the dinning room but it looked lovely. It is located a short walk to the main street of Baddeck. Cape Breton is a wonderful part of the country.

Stayed two nights on an organized tour. Basically, in the middle of nowhere, although you can walk into town. It's not much of a town, but does have some restaurants and shops. The grounds are extensive, including a nature trail behind the hotel. Our room had a veranda, shared with other rooms in the same building, and a very nice view across the lawn and over the lake. The room was quite large, the bath was adequate, we had sufficient storage space for clothes and toiletries. It is an older property, so we had to search for enough outlets for our electronics; they were not all conveniently located, but they were sufficient.

Really nice hotel, good prices and wonderful views. Best place to start your trip around the Cabot Trail. Food at their restaurant has a good continental breakfast included in the price...would love to visit again.

Room Tip: First building on the right of the lobby second floor
