We stayed in the spinnaker room which has its own bathroom across the hall. This was a little bit of a hassle, but not too bad for 1 night. And they do provide robes. The room itself was comfortable and nicely appointed. The bathroom was very nicely updated. The nicest part of the inn are the communal sitting rooms downstairs with a fantastic view of the lake. The view is the same from the kitchen where you have breakfast. The breakfast was simple Continental but a step above other places we have stayed on this trip simply by having fresh cut fruit and not the absolute cheapest cereals. A very tastefully modernised character home. I would happily have stayed longer.

This wound up being a great spot. We stayed in the Lighthouse room, that as you would expect, looks over the Baddeck Lighthouse. It is right on the ocean front, and the views from the room, and family room, and sitting on their dock are just terrific. The entire place is very well maintained, clean and fresh. The morning breakfast is fine. Nothing real special, just packaged bagels, toast but some fresh fruit and the hostess it very nice. Personally we would have appreciated a second comfortable chair in the light house room so we could have enjoyed the great with a nice glass of wine. But overall we thought this was a very nice place, and you can walk to virtually everything in town.

We were in the Mabel Bell room on the first floor for two nights. The room was smallish, but adequate because of the common living space. It was very comfortable. Only drawbacks were little shelf space in the bathroom and only a very low shampoo/soap space in the shower. The common space was great, especially the deck with the view of the water. We were lucky to have 2 beautiful weather days to enjoy it. I would stay there again just to enjoy the water view. Breakfast, altho cold items, was perfectly adequate for us. Our innkeeper was lovely and friendly. All in all, a great experience and a place I can highly recommend.

We loved our stay at the Dunlop! It is a perfect location being just at the end of the main strip. The room was clean and comfortable and the whole house is really impressive. Having the private boardwalk and deck out back is the perfect spot to take your morning coffee or an evening drink. Breakfast the next morning was great and we had hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, english muffins, bagels, toast, cheese...all you could ask for. We will be staying again when in Baddeck next time.

Room Tip: had the spinaker (sp?) room with the separate private bathroom across the hall...may be a nuisance if you're up frequently through the night

I can't think of a time or place in our 3 week adventure to The Maritimes that I felt more wecomed or comfortable. Jerrianne takes care of every last detail. I must admit I was searching private airfare up here because if I have to go through LaGuardia one more time, I might just die. Or at least want to. This place is home in a second. We stayed in The Lighthouse Room. It was fabulous. No complaints. Book in advance. And congrats to Jerrianne on her wedding! She's an absolute joy!
