Description: An original pub built in 1966 with astonishing view of the harbour and Cheticamp Island. Watch fishing boats or whale tour boats while enjoying a fabulous meal, a cold drink, or listening to one of our raved ceilidhs or live music acts. Many locals eat and/or come for fun at this laid back pub. We hope your experience is up to par, and welcome comments on Tripadvisor...

On a recent trip to Cape Breton we experienced The Doryman Pub on a Saturday afternoon. There was great local fiddle music and fresh fish on the menu. It was a great location to experience the local ambience. It is definitely a place we will visit again.

We were lucky enough to wander in here when they had a céilidh - a informal musical jam session. It was fabulous. This very laid back place with long tables was filled with locals who were most appreciative of the Celtic music and the beer. One young woman got up and did an impromptu step dance. Both the fiddling and the fried clams were outstanding.

Saturday afternoon music from 2pm is excellent and well attended by locals and tourists.
Best of the local musicians and traditional Acadian fiddlers are often featured. (There is a $6 cover charge, which is well worth it).
Service and drinks were excellent.

Nothing will beat a meal at the Doryman. Whether it is the friendly staff, or the delicious food, it has never let me down. Doryman burgers are delicious, along with their pan-fried fish and chips. There is nothing like it around! Great atmosphere and food/beverages are well priced. Highly recommend the Doryman!

We went for a Thursday night Talent night. I felt privileged to feel welcome into this bar that is visited regularly by locals. The open mic was just that and very entertaining.
