Description: An original pub built in 1966 with astonishing view of the harbour and Cheticamp Island. Watch fishing boats or whale tour boats while enjoying a fabulous meal, a cold drink, or listening to one of our raved ceilidhs or live music acts. Many locals eat and/or come for fun at this laid back pub. We hope your experience is up to par, and welcome comments on Tripadvisor...

“The Phantoms/ Burgers and more”
Reviewed 8 November 2013

Well, what can I say about the Doryman Pub & Grill - Our first time at the Doryman was two years ago when down for a Golf Tournament, little did we know the fun we would have later on that evening. The Phantoms were playing, and lets just say we didn't come off the dance floor all night, well with the expectations for a drink... We have since visited the Doryman twice, once while doing the Cabot Trail on our bikes this September long weekend ( stopped in for a delish Cheeseburger and a few fiddle tunes) and again for the annual Golf Tournament “Log a load for kids” nothing like a day on the course and a night at the Doryman, did I mention poutine?? Well you have to try it.... So everyone reading this, if you are going through Cheticamp and want service with a smile and awesome food look no further.... Thanks to Claude and his fabulous staff... we will be there again... If you’ll have us

“Pub atmosphere, great view, food surprisingly great!”
Reviewed 22 October 2013

At first glance, this appears to be a pub gearing to drinking and local entertainment. One does not go here for the ambiance, but the ocean view is extraordinary. The seafood dinners we ordered were first rate and we enjoyed the fiddle music in conjunction with the Celtic Colours Festival. Can't wait to dine here again!

“A Local Gem”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

On a recent trip to Cape Breton we experienced The Doryman Pub on a Saturday afternoon. There was great local fiddle music and fresh fish on the menu. It was a great location to experience the local ambience. It is definitely a place we will visit again.

“Fun place off the tourist trail - great music”
Reviewed 23 August 2013

We were lucky enough to wander in here when they had a céilidh - a informal musical jam session. It was fabulous. This very laid back place with long tables was filled with locals who were most appreciative of the Celtic music and the beer. One young woman got up and did an impromptu step dance. Both the fiddling and the fried clams were outstanding.

“Best place in Cheticamp for Acadian fiddlers and music.”
Reviewed 10 August 2013 via mobile

Saturday afternoon music from 2pm is excellent and well attended by locals and tourists.
Best of the local musicians and traditional Acadian fiddlers are often featured. (There is a $6 cover charge, which is well worth it).
Service and drinks were excellent.
