We had the pleasure of staying at the Acadian Motel on Monday, October 8th, 2012. We were warmly welcomed, and our room was super clean and organized. It's not fancy, but it's was exactly what we needed...a comfy place to lay out head for the night, and if was the shoulder season, so it was a good rate too. Wifi worked perfectly too! Thanks Acadian Motel - when we're back in Cheticamp, we'll definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We were give Room #10, which had it's own little deck overlooking the water - it was beautiful!

The rooms are all clean and well put together. There is a nice view of the ocean out the door. The location was great, near the post office, nslc (liquor store), convenience store. Lots of restaurants nearby and some cute shops. New fridges and microwaves. Amazing flat screen tvs and tv channels! Wi fi, which was nice to plan the rest of our trip. It is right on the cabot trail, which most things are and convenient stopping place.

Each room had 2 double beds, so good if travelling with another couple or as a group. Coffee available in the morning! And nice beds to sleep on. Greatly appreciated after hiking all weekend!

Room Tip: 10 and 11 I believe are along the area with best view I believe.

We stopped in here on our trip around Cape Breton. We opted for this place because it was the best priced. The motel has an ocean view and sits on a hill just off the main highway. This is an older hotel for sure, but well taken care of. The rooms are basic as expected, but for $70 a night it was perfect. The rooms also came with a fridge and microwave - this was the only place I stayed at in Eastern Canada that had these two items. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. If you're looking for a stop over location and don't need anything fancy, this is a good place to start. The Wi-Fi was spotty at times in our room.

We got into Cheticamp around 10am going counterclockwise on the Cabot Trail. Up until then, we had reservations. I saw that Albert's was booked, so we pulled into Acadian. The owner was pleasant and said he had a room for us and we could check in right then. It took less than 5 minutes and we headed to our room. It was a good rate and we liked the water view across the road. It was in walking distance of some things, but the day was very windy and rainy, so we drove around. The room was very clean, had air conditioning, and a good size bathroom with nice shower. The bed was comfortable. We had a microwave and mini fridge.

There was no breakfast available, but coffee was in the office at 7am. The owner was walking by our room as we were loading our car, so check out was a quick handover of the key with a little joke of leave the sunshine and take the rain. We would recommend this as a great place to get a good night's sleep.

Paid $85 per night. A great price in the area. Central location on the main street of Cheticamp. Water view. Old decor from 70's, dark wood furniture, utility carpet, wallpaper covering, etc. out of date but clean! This is a value motel. No luxury but a safe, clean place to lie your head after a day of sightseeing. Extras include a/c and free wi-fi which are NOT standard in other motels/cottages in the area. Flat screen tv but only 12 channels. I would stay again!

This place was recommended by a friend so we made resversations well in advance , but upon arrival we were greeted by a man yelling NO Rooms No Rooms . Our traveling group of 10 was all older couples that our children are grown up and we have grand children but we were treated very rudely and told several times not to make ANY noise .
I have never felt so UN-welcomed at any place in my life .
I would never stay or recommend this place to anyone !

We were greeted in the parking lot upon arrival and the gentleman told us he didn't have rooms for all of us before we even had time to tell him that we had reservations. While checking in one of the rooms in our group told him that there were 4 people in that room and he said that he wasn't aware of it, and then he told us that he didn't know we were arriving on bikes. I did see on his memo pad that a couple of the rooms had "bikes" listed under the names. HELLO I have worked in hotels at the check in desk for about 10 years and I have never asked a customer what was the means of travel. From the get go we were not received very well and were meant to feel that since we were on motorcycles we would be loud and cause a disturbance, we were told that if we made any noise that he would be calling the police. I can tell you that the elder ladies a couple of doors down were louder and woke us up when they returned, as we were tired from the long drive and had gone to bed long before midnight (our room alone by 10:30pm). The next morning one of the gentleman (retired) was cleaning his windshield with his own rag and he was accused of using one of the hotel towels to which he replied to the gentleman that it was his own. My husband had stayed there a couple of years ago as well as did his uncle a couple of years earlier that is why we stayed there and rest assured we would not stay there again.
