“stunning! the house, the location, the way it's kept...”

What a gorgeous place! What a find! We stayed in the oceans room of the main house - king size bed, wonderful view of the ocean, wooden floor, free wifi that worked fast and reliable and the quietest air conditioning system I have ever experienced. It was as if the room climate just happened to be perfect without revealing why...
Behold the grounds! I haven't seen anything so meticiously well kept before. There wasn't a single withered flower to be found in the ample flower beds. Everything is just beautiful. Sitting on the terrace in the evening, flower arrangements everywhere, listening to the surf - what bliss.
We haven't seen the cottages' insides. Six of them, three on each side form a little village square right by the ocean. you can bring your car down to the cottage. Then you're right at the stunningly beautiful beach.
there's not breakfast at this place but if you walk up the road (or drive) just a couple hundred yards there's a beautiful, little cafe...

Room Tip: book early if you want a cottage!

The Lantern Hill and Hollow is very impressive. We stayed in the white sands guest room - comfortable king sized bed, lovely sitting room and large bathroom. Our room was clean and spacious. We did not have our own balcony, but had access to one. A short walk down the hill to the beautiful beach. The service was very friendly and welcoming.

The Lantern Hill and Hollow has a perfect locatio, its clean and the customer service is good. Other than that its just decent. The wifi is a bit glitchy the beds a bit uncomfterable etc. I enjoied my stay very much here at the Lantern Hill, but its still overpriced. For 250 a night I simply expected a bit more so 4 out of 5

The fact that we took a lovely, scenic drive through the Cabot Trail only made this destination even better. It was almost as though we discovered a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

The cottages are lovely, clean and new. We found everything we needed with the exception of paper towel and sugar. Previous places we have stayed in have had these items, so we thought we would find them here also. Nothing but a very minor inconvenience.

The beach was fantastic. Gorgeous, long beach that we enjoyed immensely. Only issues a was that we apparently came at jellyfish season so we didn't go too deep into the water. We still splashed and played for hours though :)

Nightly fires are always my favourite time. As long as there is no fire ban on, you're all set. Lots of wood & kindling to make a nice fire to sit, sing and roast marshmallows with.

I enjoyed this spot very much and will be returning for sure!

Wow! Everything about this place is incredible, from the exceptionally warm welcome and service to the cleanliness of the room, to the absolutely perfect location - right on the beach. I truly felt myself relax from the second that we stepped foot on this beautiful property.....and my only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Ingonish, I can't recommend Lantern Hill and Hollow highly enough. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the rooms in the main house. Was perfect for us, as a couple. If you have a fa...

We just spent 3 nights at Lantern Hill & Hollow and wholeheartedly agree with all of the positive reviews. Sharon--the innkeeper--has created a lovely oasis. From the moment you turn into the driveway you know it will be special. The landscaping is beautiful and the cottages are perfectly situated on the water--well away from the traffic of the Cabot Trail. Ours was the Beachcomber--a very comfortable 2 bedroom unit overlooking the beach--thoughtfully equipped and nicely furnished. Even the wi-fi was excellent. And the entire complex was kept spotlessly clean and is beautifully planted--no small feat in a place that gets such severe winters! We would happily return.

Spotlessly clean, amazing beachfront location and super quiet. We were there for 5 nights in early June. The cottages and property are very well maintained, and exactly as shown on the Lantern Hill website. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. We would stay here again as the beach is literally on your doorstep. The location is great as well for exploring the Cabot Trail. There is not much in the way of shopping, so I strongly advise bringing groceries with you. There are some good restaurants close by. Whale watching trips are available in the community as well.
There is also wood and kindling provided for campfires on the beach, with chairs available on the beach. There is also a large bin of beach/sand toys available for children to use on the beach.

Room Tip: All cottages are located with easy access to the beach, so any of the cottages would be an excellent...
