We chose this Inn based on Trip Advisor comments and were not disappointed in the least. Our Harbourside room overlooked the harbor and being at the end of the 2nd floor was quiet. Parker greeted us and showed us to our room where we spent a pleasant 3 nights. The room had a door which opened onto a deck where one could also sit outside. Breakfasts were absolutely the best, and all were gourmet. There was a plentiful supply of juices, milk, and coffee with a bowl of scones to top it off. After one of these breakfasts, lunch only needed to be a snack.

It was very easy to visit the Fortress with the reception center being only about 1 1/2 miles away. On the way to the Fortress is a small restaurant - The Lobster Kettle which had some great lobster. If you need to do some laundry there is a place very near the Lobster Kettle on the main street. Also in the area you can visit the Marconi museum and miners museum in Glace Bay, however I personally enjoyed the Marconi museum the most. In a sense the radio telegraph was the forerunner of the cell phones we enjoy today.

We enjoyed our visit very much and would most definitely come back again.

This is a beautiful inn on the harbour. We only stayed one night but would have enjoyed staying longer. Room was very comfortable, clean and a decent size. View is great. Breakfast was delicious, gourmet compared to other places.

This was our second visit to this Inn and certainly lived up to our happy memories. You really know you are in The Maritimes here, the Inn is right on the Harbour where local fishermen come and go, the views are lovely and you can see the Fortress in the distance. The room was great, comfortable, clean and a real treat to stay in. Reading the Guest Book is fun too as there are many contented visitors, many wrote, as we did, that the breakfasts are fabulous. We would certainly advise anyone visiting the area to stay here and perhaps we shall return a third time soon!

We have just spent two delightful days here and enjoyed every moment.

This old captains house has been lovingly restored to the highest standard, sympathetically and with great taste. Our host, Parker, was wonderful and just couldn't do enough for us - including climbing out of bed around midnight to give us the room keys we left behind. Breakfasts were to die for and by far the best we have enjoyed anywhere in out two week travels around Nova Scotia.

Book here with confidence.

This beautifully restored old Captain’s house was a real treat to stay at and is very close to the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. We had a choice of rooms and ended up selecting what was once the master bedroom. It was very well decorated, clean and comfortable. Parker, our host, was very friendly and helpful and the fact that the house was once his family home simply added to the charm. He put together a superb breakfast which included a fresh fruit-filled crepe that my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. He also recommended we attend a musical performance at the local playhouse, just a 2 minute walk from the Inn. We were not disappointed and the entertainment was delightful. This Inn was our first choice and obviously the best.

A very nice inn with a superb breakfast. We were there for several days and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Room was very spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. Bath was quite large. There is a nice deck that looks out over the bay.
Parker was very informative about local places to visit and staff was very friendly .
It overlooks a fishing wharf with a view of the Fortress in the distance. Be sure and walk the lighthouse trail - views are stunning !!

Room Tip: Stairs are steep so if there are accessibility issues beware.

Very close to the harbour, it has a great view. the room was extremely clean with some period furnishings and for my wife , quite delightful. The breakfasts were of a very high quality and not to be missed. Parker, our host was very welcoming and gave us a great deal of information regarding things to do and see in Louisbourg and the surrounding area. It is very convenient for all local amenities and attractions, surely one of the best places to stay in the area.
