We stayed at the Gray Gables B and B that is a very short walk to Graves Island. There is a hiking trail right around the island and we walked that after breakfast. The walk takes about 45 minutes with lots of places to sit and rest or take pictures. There are also places with picnic tables and the middle of the island has a camping site.

I was camping here for one night and the park was full. I usually really enjoy provincial parks for their cleanliness and privacy, and I was really impressed by Graves Island's campsites. We had site 104 which was open, but gave us a panoramic view of the water. All sites were spread apart with a few trees and some were completely treed in. There is a 3km trail around the island which was about an hour hike and had neat look off spots. The campground was quiet even though it was full. One of the few provincial campgrounds in NS with electricity on some sites. There were no flush toilets, but pit toilets were easily accessible, clean, and running water taps were close by as well. I'd recommend this place to anyone and already trying to plan a return trip.

After planning for several months ahead several of us booked sights close to each other ( we were charged an extra 9.00 for booking ahead ) We were told we were aloud 2 VW camper vans per sight if we were family we planned on sharing a sight with our son & daughter in law we fully expected to pay full price for both campers . After a 5 hour drive from N.B. we arrived to be told we could not share a sight even though we are family, apparently the campground & the booking people use different rule books. we ended up in group camping ,not a big deal as long as were with family & friends were easily pleased .We went to the office to change our campsites ,there we were treated rudely and I mean VERY RUDELY by the staff . We are a group of adults ranging in age from 37 to 77 all well versed in how to minding our manners & showing respect to others .We left the office very upset at our plans being ruined and the rudeness of the staff .We were then visited by security from the camp ground who informed there were too many in group camping some would have to move to the other side of the island ( a fifteen minute. walk away ) to the other sights . Also they informed us there was no alcohol allowed in group ( we were not told any of these rules when we checked it ) We are not a rowdy group or do we drink to excess but some of us do have a glass of wine or a beer .The bathrooms were poorly cared for and smelled from several feet away most of them ran out of toilette tissue on Saturday ,they were not restocked until Sunday morning ( still very stinky ). We made the best we could of our weekend despite the reception we received from Graves island campground but sadly will not return to the beautiful little island because of the poor management and the rudeness of the staff. There are many beautiful well managed campgrounds where you are welcomed and treated with respect save yourself the aggravation and stay else were .
