“A Warm & Beautiful Experience!”
Reviewed 6 June 2013

The location with panaramic view, beautiful surroundings, inside and out, was a warm and relaxing experience. And the breakfast was unique and delicious with local apples, maple syrup and homemade bisquit included. I recommend the Seafaring Maiden without any hesitation, whether for a business or pleasure trip.

Room Tip: I think the view from the "Abigail" was a particularly lovely view in the early morning, a...

We stayed two nights in the Captain's room. Outstanding view of the water. Comfortable bed. Bill and Ann Marie went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Excellent social hosts with great insight of the area. When visiting Annapolis Royal, definitely check out this B&B.

Thanks for making our stay so welcoming. The home is beautiful and the breakfast is the best we have had at any other bed and breakfasts. Would absolutely recommend this B and B for your stay in the area.

I'm not sure I have room for all the superlatives that should be showered upon this establishment and their hosts. You cannot ask for more accommodating and informative hosts. The Monks exude friendliness and hospitality from the moment they pick up the phone to take your reservation until you are forced to part company with these lovely people. They were born to do this kind of work and you can feel how much they love it! Their home is a stunning, historical turn of the century Victorian, built by Mrs. Monk's Great-Grandfather, Captain Hall, and lovingly restored and cared for by them both. All three guest rooms are lovely with unobstructed, great views of the Annapolis River across the street. We stayed in the Captain's room and it was quite comfortable and charming. All the rooms are filled with antiques and if you love a sense of depth and history, you'll feel like you've come home. We did. We certainly enjoyed our week there, and used it as a base to see the sights of Nova Scotia. A Seafairing Maiden was nice to come home to each evening. The food... Gracious. Breakfasts were amazing and plentiful. Fresh baked muffins, fresh fruit and juice, Florintine Fritatta, fruit-filled German pancakes, Eggs Benedict...you get the idea, all served on their elegant china service. No hotel, (or any other B&B we've visited) can match all this...and they don't have the Monks as proprietors! Do yourself a favor and book a stay here soon! We'll be back.

First off ask about the story behind the name Sea faring maiden, it is amazing.

The location is idyllic right opposite the shore looking out onto Annapolis Royale in a quiet neighbourhood within walking distance of town.

The rooms are large and well appointed, with comfortable beds, the rooms all have a private bathroom although The Bessie is not attached.

The breakfast is served in the dinning room by your hosts Bill and Anne Marie (I'll get to them later). The meals were home made and delicious, they also offer 7:00am coffee service for you early risers.

The hosts Bill and Anne Marie are delightful and friendly but respect your privacy. Bill has a special talent for telling stories and Anne Marie teaches music in the study (I enjoyed listening as it brought back memories of grade 7 band class).

Additional thoughts, For lunch go to Leo's, for dinner go to Cafe Compote, take a trip to both Fort Anne and Port Royal.

Decided to say overnight on the spur of the moment and we were so glad we did. Our hosts were very accommodating and gracious. The room was large and very comfortable with ensuite bathroom. The early coffee and delicious breakfast were much appreciated. I would highly recommend this B&B for either a trip of busines or pleasure.

we had a great two days at Seafaring Maiden. We were made very welcome to this lovely period house, which was beautiful with large rooms overlooking the river.Breakfast was really good. Our bedroom was spacious with comfy bed and shower across the corridor, can not recommend more highly.B/B on other part of our trip would do well to aspire to these standards. We only found one other which was Azelia Farmhouse in Antigonish

Room Tip: all rooms are lovely
