We spent 2 wonderful days at the Seafaring Maiden. With great hosts and wonderful food. It's not often that you can sit around a fire, have a couple glasses of wine and share the days experiences with the other guests and the host. It happens here. A not to be missed.

Room Tip: There are only 3 rooms and they are all lovely.

Our stay at A Seafaring Maiden was pure luck on our part. In search of real estate in Nova Scotia we needed a home base in the Annapolis Royal area to view property. Just by chance of a internet search we came upon this B&B. We have never had such a hospitable couple as Bill and Ann Marie Monk. Their home is absolutely beautiful, the food was delicious and our four day stay seen a wide variety of breakfast delights. Their wealth of knowledge of the area was greatly inspiring. Needless to say we can't wait for a return visit.

Solo again on one of my unplanned trips, I was fortunate to stay one night at the Seafaring Maiden. The historic building is in top shape keeping the original style of the design but also providing modern features such as WI FI.
It was great experience as Bill and Ann Marie were wonderful host! During our first conversation, I mentioned my passion for aviation research and mentioned the name of a local aviation researcher who I had exchanged emails over the years and very much enjoyed his published work. Within 5 minutes, arrangements were by the hosts to have that person with me at breakfast the following morning.
This service along with the peacefulness of the place goes way beyond what was expected!
Thanks so much!

Daniel Goguen

Staying at A Seafaring Maiden fulfilled a long-held wish that we might stay there one day, after we received a tour of the house six years earlier as we happened to stop in front of the house on a bicycling outing one summer vacation. We struck up a conversation with Bill Monk, one of the owners, and he was kind enough to give us a tour.

Returning to the house in March (2014) was the treat that we hoped it would be. We came to Nova Scotia for a late winter excursion with our adult son to view a possible retirement home in the area and A Seafaring Maiden proved to be the perfect base station to do so. The beds and the rest of the amenities were top notch and the breakfasts were among the best we've ever had at a B&B. We look forward to returning to Annapolis Valley soon and maybe someday we can call it home.

Room Tip: The large room in front has a spacious King bed for those wanting plenty of sleeping space.

This was my second visit in four months to the Seafaring Maiden and it truly is just like coming home (if my home was clean and peaceful) with better food. Ann Marie and Bill are the ultimate hosts, knowledgeable of the area, friendly and accommodating. I will be back again.
