Great place to visit with lots of history on the Carmicheal Family of New Glasgow; as well as many items of a historic nature relating to New Glasgow, Pictou County. If you have relatives form this area you might find some of your family history here. There are enough exhibits and variety of exhibits to make this a stop that young and old can enjoy. The historic garden is a great place to sit a spell and relax - weather permitting.

There was an admission fee - I believe it was $5.oo

So much history crammed into this house so much to look st we could not finish as we had to go . The house is located on a land large in size and close by the water. Guess this is the way they travelled when needing of supplies. The guides give you so much information about the owners of this house and the house itself.

This is one of those places you can drive past a hundred times and never think to stop. Make the time.... there are some very interesting items on display. We visited when there was a display of dolls. The gardens are very impressive.

I had read up about this museum and thought that if we were in the area, we would stop. We did pay a visit and enjoyed it. This is a historic house on a large piece of land not far from the water. The informative guides talked about the house and original owners, and one of them gave us a tour including the upstairs bedrooms. We looked at the artifacts and they offered us tea and cake (only on Tuesday afternoons). If you are in the area, this is an interesting stop.
