“Our Best & Breakfast in Nova Scotia!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

We liked everything about this B&B: very large room, with a nice bathroom, and a deck with a view on the Canso Strait By the way, this B&B is located in Troy, rather than in Port Hastings. Pat, the lady who owns owns a B&B was very nice, and she prepared a generous breakfast for us, it would be impossible to leave this place hungry! Our only regret was that could not stay at this B&B longer.

Room Tip: Suites are large and sunny, and have a deck.

When we arrived there, no one was manning the office, but a cordless phone was in the postbox with a number to call. The owner picked up, asked us to go to Room #5 and check it out before we decided if we wanted to stay there, which I found very considerate.
We said we would take it, and she said she would send someone around to pick up and process our payment.
From the exterior, I didn't think it would be that great, but the rooms have all been recently renovated, with newly installed laminate flooring and were very clean. Our room contained a small kitchenette with two burners, a microwave, toaster and coffee maker. In addition, cutlery, cups, saucers, plates and frying pats and pots were present. A small bar fridge, flat screen t.v. and plenty of storage was available. The bathroom was perfect, and heating and air conditioning were in excellent running order. A/C unit has a remote control and WIFI is standard.

The price was more than reasonable, given the location (2 minutes into Cape Breton Island) and the amenities. Paul, the onsite staff (Paul) was very friendly, considerate and knowledgeable (offering us plenty of suggestions of things to do and see).

So.... in summation.. Yes, I would to love stay here again!

Pat, the lady who owns this Motel also owns a B&B. She is very reasonably priced and cooks a nice breakfast. Oh, by the way, she is a friendly and kind person. We stayed her with our 3 friends from England. The young one (just 2) was fuzzin' in the morning and Pat went out of her way to enable everyone of us to eat our breakfast peacefully. I cannot imagine anyone who would be disappointed in staying with her. We were very pleased.

Very clean, We took the units in her home. Nice view and surroundings. Owner was very accommodating and served breakfasts in two rooms because of toddler. Definitely a good place to stop before exploring Cape Breton.

Room Tip: Suggest you take a higher room - basement ceiling is not completely sound-proofed.
