Me, my hubby and daughter spent a night there and it's a perfect stop while on the Cabot Trail. Very clean and the owner is very nice and will go out of her way to make your stay pleasant.
AWESOME !!! LOVE to hear you had a GREAT stay !!! We added a Trampoline this year as another fun activity along with the playground and pool. So Happy to know you had a great start to your trip on Cape Breton !!
Thanks so much for sharing :)
Have a great summer !
Thanks for your hospitality. We enjoyed the first night on Cape Breton in Fair Isle Motel very much. The breakfast and the cinamon buns at Charlene's were great too. But most of all we would like to thank you for redirecting us through Baddeck to the other side of the Cabot Trail. The views were truly spectacular. We took tons of pictures and ended the day pickniking at one of the parks on Cabot Trail on our way to Parkview motel in Cheticamp.
The weather cooperated for most of our trip through Cape Breton. Altogether, we spent 4 nights in Cape Breton and then we went to Halifax and to the Bay of Fundy later on and after that we headed out to USA and stayed in Lake Placid for couple of days.
I will update your facebook file as soon as I get organized with my pictures.
Oh I'm so excited that you had such a wonderful time here and on the Trail ! Thanks so very much for sharing your adventures, it means so much to me. I certainly hope the rest of your summer is as enjoyable :) Looking forward to the pictures on Facebook!
This well-kept and attractive property is well suited for touring on Breton Island. Not far from Baddeck and entrance to Cabot Trail. Manager assisted us numerous times in various needs we had. A nice alternative, price-wise to the trendier properties in the Baddeck area.
Clean room. Very nice cleaning lady, receptionist and owners. Went out of their way to help me for a special request I had. Nice view from room. Pool seemed immaculate. Would love to see the carpet refreshed. Toiletries are basic shampoo and soap. So bring the other little comforts from home. Absolutely worth the price!
We spent ten delightful days at this spot overlooking the Bras D'Or lakes. We could walk one direction to Charlene's Bayside Restaurant for excellent seafood chowder or walk the other direction for baked goods at the Farmer's Daughter where we "discovered" oat cakes that we spent weeks trying to duplicate when we got home to CT, and the most amazing meat pies in their freezer section.
I had a bit of business in Whycoocmaugh and could walk from the Fair Isle to the Royal Bank of Canada and to the Post Office: everyone at both was welcoming and helpful.
We were there during berry season and when we returned to the motel with containers of blackberries and blueberries, Christena let us raid her own kitchen for baking equipment so we could make pies. We also culled the motel's berry bushes early each morning, causing Christena's husband Jason to wonder why the berries were
not ripening. Hmmm. If Christena regretted upgrading us to an available kitchenette room, she was politic enough not to mention it.
My dog traveled w. us and was equally welcome and comfortable.
We were out and about each day and so did not use the pool on the premises.
The Fair Isle is a pleasant, low key, fun place to stay and Christena Rouse, the manager, is a grand spokesperson for Cape Breton hospitality which she provides with great good humor. A special thank you to Isabel Munro who cleaned up the mess left after we threw a farewell breakfast in our room for friends and the motel staff. We loved our time there.
