Stopped in at this quaint little roadside restaurant today and had a feast. What amazing Seafood Chowder and not a potato in sight. Topped it off with a great piece of homemade butterscotch pie. Almost needed a nap when I was done. Great job Girls!!!

Lobster roll was unbelieveable and key lime pie a treat.brought chowder home for my husband which was full of lobster crab scallops and other seafood.

This place is my favorite place to eat when visiting Cape Breton Island. Awesome homemade food, and desserts (bucket of mud is my favorite). The raspberry rolls are amazing, moist and fresh, so tasty. Located just off the highway its a perfect stop when travelling. They also have a little breezeway area that you can tie your dog up to get some fresh air instead of having them sit in cars. Awesome place, will be back again.

Charlene's is a small, informal diner, but the food, especially the chowder, is great! I had sworn off "yet another bowl of chowder" when I first stopped there, so I ordered, if you can believe it, BBQ Ribs. Then I succumbed and ordered a side of a cup of chowder. The ribs were just fine, BUT the CHOWDER WAS REALLY WONDERFUL! I returned for a bowl of chowder on the only other night that I had free while in the area, and enjoyed that even more.
Home made desserts topped off both meals, and they were great as well.

Really good chowder and fish, served in a homestyle dinery setting. A little pricy, but well worth it. If you're passing by, stop in.
