You will hardly find any better place in this area for dinner and breakfast. Very friendly and kind people and an amazing fish chowder. But everything else we had was very tasty too.
And a dream of blueberry pie!!

We had a "mission" to find the best seafood chowder on our recent trip to Nova Scotia and PEI. Several times people recommended Charlene's, including someone who had just had a chowder at another well-known extablishment. The gentleman said to him Charlene's was the best. We went out of our way to find it, got there too early (it hadn't finished cooking for the day) but waited to get the best chowder of our trip. Bowl-licking good! Loved the consistency on the thick side and the variety of seafood, no fillers.

Excellent food and very nice people. The fish chowder is the best ever. The seafood basket had clams, scallops, shrimp and a generous piece of fish.

On our motorcycle trip back to the USA, eleven of us stopped at this unsuspecting culinary treasure. We stopped at the direction of a local rider, who claimed that the food was really good. Well, after we all got settled at a table, I quickly learned that the staff at the restaurant was incredibly cordial and helpful with suggestions about what to order. The bottom line is that this was the best meal I've had in a long time, and the prices were very reasonable. I sampled from several different plates and found everything to be tasty, hot; and full of flavor. Coming from a seaport city, I know good seafood; and Charlene's selections are right-on-point: Fabulous. Charlene's will definitely be on my list of places to stop when I make another visit to this wonderful country. Thanks for the delicious experience!
