“A pub that is perfect for its home town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

The Brassie may be located in a normal, everyday plaza, but once you go inside, you get the feeling that you're in a classic pub in a rustic stone village. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy. There is a great selection of pub classics on the menu; I recommend the toad in the hole. There was a great selection of drinks and the service was good too. The Brassie is the perfect stop when you're in the town of Ancaster.

“Everything you want in a pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

The Brassie does a great job at being a neighbourhood pub. I've tried several dishes here and they are all tasty, fresh, and competently prepared. The service is always efficient and friendly. The back patio is a nice place to eat in the summer time, and the friendly pub atmosphere is just what you look for in a place like this.

“Hit and Miss With Quality of Food and Service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

We have eaten many times at The Brassie Pub and at times the food is very good, and at times very poor. Every time we have visited there is new staff so I expect a high turnover. It is noisy on certain nights with karaoke, card games, etc. which can make conversation difficult at your table. Service can be extremely slow, particularly if you don't order alcoholic beverages. The nachos can be excellent or horrible, beware they will charge you if you ask for extra sour cream or salsa if you don't wish to share dips at your table. The décor leaves much to be desired; it is in poor shape, dark and dingy. This is the only type of restaurant in the area so tends to be very busy.

“Worth looking for”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

It's not the easiest of places to find - tucked away in the corner of a shopping centre, but it's worth checking it out. Very tasty pub food (try the toad-in-the-hole); fast, friendly service and a reasonable selection of beer on tap. Noisy inside on Wednesday nights in the summer (baseball teams), but the patio is quiet and doesn't have too many smokers.
