Food here is inconsistent. One week it's terrific and the next week, I'm wondering what I'm doing spending money on substandard food. I've had outstanding fish and chips and inedible fish and chips. Chicken shishkebob is usually pretty good. The beer selection is excellent and the wait staff is great. Lots of evening entertainment options. Make the food consistently good and this will be a really excellent place.

My first time visit based on some good reviews, and I was not impressed AT ALL.

Lunch on a Sunday - very slow delivery of the food to the table (25-30 minutes). My sandwich (reuben) arrived mostly cold and the bread was wet thru. Also there's no dressing on this sandwich, though when I asked she offered mustard.... bland, bland, bland.... The side of slaw is not cole slaw, it's just some shaved cabbage in a bit of oil and green onions, bland, bland, bland.... The draft beer was good until a small critter flew into it.

My partner's fish and chips was reasonably good.

I won't be back.

Coach and Lantern has been around for a while and has pretty decent pub food and salads. Lots of beer choices and a small but lovely patio. It's housed in one of the original stone buildings in Old Ancaster.

Outstanding! An oasis in a concrete jungle.
A unique, wonderful experience. Many extras.
I was treated like royalty.

Poor food and questionable service. How can a pub mess up an order of fish and chips? Can do with some upgrading of furnishings too.
