The cottage is very snug, and gave us a warm kind of feeling (that matters more to us than luxury) the whole time we were there. Rooms are perfect size for sleeping (2p in each room). Cute little kitchen, loved cleaning it and took no time to clean. Fridge is a little small and thought it would be an issue, but it wasn't at all. We also took a cooler with ice for beer and other drinks, so it worked out great. Shower was great and lots of water pressure. TV (flat screen) has HDMI cable output. Deck has two outdoor tables/chairs with two umbrellas. The backyard was very nice and lots of room for kids to play. Bunkie is quite spacious and comfortable to sleep in. There was 6 of us, 2 adults and 4 teenagers and we fitted just perfect in the cottage- not one complaint from any of us, everyone loved it. Had few fires, fire-pit with six muskoka chairs and little side tables was great. Beach is a little walk (3 min) but it felt like a little journey every time we went...some rocks on the beach which it didn't bother us, because of the privacy we had (few people here and there). Sandra (the owner) was great help (instant text replies) with finding things and information about the town and restaurants around. Bayfield is about 10 min away. LCBO, Foodland and many Farmer Markets around. The area where the little shops are in Bayfield (I think it would be difficult to find)...we found it by mistake when we GPS'd the address and for town we put Bayfield instead of Zurich... Also, found another beach there and it was just beautiful. Always loved Grand Bend (10-15 min drive) but now Bayfield and the area is my number one place to go. I would definitely rent this cottage again and would recommend it to friends and family.
Cottage is cozy and functional. Deck makes for a great spot to hangout in the sun while barbecuing or relaxing. The lake is a short walk away and requires a climb down a pretty long set of stairs. Not really a beach but still a nice place to relax.
Location is pretty far from Grand Bend if you're looking to spend significant time there. Cab was easy to get to pick us up but very difficult to flag down at the end of the night.
Fridge/kitchen space is somewhat limited so make sure to bring coolers with ice.
The weekend we were there was pretty cold and heating worked excellent in the house. We moved a portable heater to the bunkie which kept that building pretty toasty.
Wouldn't recommend having more than 6 people stay the cottage.
Sandra/Nuria are very helpful and excellent to deal with.
