“A Lovely Romantic Setting!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2012

We stayed at the Little Inn in Bayfield for a 3-night getaway. We reserved the package in which breakfast and dinner were included. We were glad we did!! Every meal we enjoyed was excellent!

Breakfast included a buffet of fresh fruit, cereal, and juice; plus, a hot breakfast item. My husband always had the Eggs Benedict and I, the Blueberry pancakes, both with a side of side bacon. Our plates were always empty when picked up by our server!! Fresh ingredients, excellent presentation and delicious flavours were the norm.

The dinners were always outstanding as well. The Lobster Risotto was our favourite appetizer and we loved every main we had: Black Angus Faux Filet, Charred Scallops, and the Lamb. The presentation was always lovely and the smells were enticing! Our meals tasted even better then they smelled!! We must also comment on the fantastic Chocolate Flourless Cake dessert that we enjoyed every night. It was out of this world!!!

We must also comment on the outstanding service we received at every single meal! We were welcomed like special guests, who were also old friends, nothing was overlooked by our waitstaff, who always refilled our water glasses, made sure we were happy with our meal, brought fresh pepper to grind, and made us feel welcome without being overbearing. Their attentiveness was perfect!!

We have nothing to criticize about our meals and service at the Little Inn. We also had an amazing time during our entire stay. Please see my review re our fantastic accommodations - they were perfect!!!

So, thank you to everyone in the Restaurant at the Little Inn. You made our stay a very special one and we WILL be back!!

While we did not own the Inn during your time here taking over in October 2014 we can assure you that all our food is sourced as local as possible and we take great pride in the quality of our food today.

Hope you get a chance to try us again.

“Beautiful dining room and shady porches”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2012

The Little Inn is that rare wonderful restaurant where the food is fabulous, the wine list excellent and which can happily accommodate a party of 8 (including 4 kids, 4 to 12 years old) while keeping the rest of their clietele happy.

We had fabulous salads, fresh heirloom beets, tender faux filet and duck topped off with a gorgeous flour less chocolate cake. Kids could enjoy a 3 course meal and hang out in the games room while adults sipped some lovely California wines .. Some great Ontario selections too. I'd love to go back and try the bed and breakfast package and get to know beautiful better.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2012

An absolutely amazing “long weekend”! The Inn was extremely clean and well appointed, with each room done differently than the other. It had a wonderful eclectic feel to it and yet no detail compromised its’ historical integrity.
But, most noteworthy: what truly impressed us was the incredibly high caliber of the Staff – 100% across the board, without exception. The initial greeting by Nicole was professional and yet absolutely inviting. At our amazing gourmet dinner, Tom added genuinely interesting conversation throughout his impeccable service. And Becca was equally gracious and friendly at our (late!) elegant breakfasts. The food was spectacular, 100%. Even those in Housekeeping were all cheery and welcoming, as we passed in the hallways. It is rare that you find a combined staff so committed and well trained. Kudo’s to Darren for his management.
Needless to say, we would definitely recommend The Little Inn in Bayfield – in fact, we already have - to several of our friends!
All the best!

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2012

The Black Angus faux fillet was delicious as was my foie gras appetizer and raspberry crepe dessert. This was one of the very best meals my wife and I have ever gotten in a restaurant. They had two couples arrive without reservations who were told they would have to wait a half hour before they could be waited on as the kitchen was busy. They had about 20 eating at that time, mostly hotel guests. I was a little surprised they couldn't have hurried a little bit to keep the extra clients who did not wait. I recommend reservations. I note that The Little Inn is ranked 5 out of 15 Bayfield restaurants. Clearly the rating has nothing to do with the flavour and uniqueness of the dishes offered here. Those factors can not be equaled in Bayfield. The bill for our 3 course gourmet meal for two without alcohol, was $150 including the tax.The previous excellent dining experiences we've had recently were at Idlewylde Inn in London and probably the best meal we've had was at The Windjammer B&B in Port Stanley, Ontario in case you're ever near those locations.
