“So Nice!”
Reviewed 24 February 2013

Stayed for one winter night, but wished we could have stayed longer. The rooms were very modern with comfortable beds and mini-fridges... even had a tasemo style
coffee maker... It was beautiful in winter here... can't imagine how nice it would be in the summer! Can definalty recommend this Inn.. the manger was very friendly and
looked after us well. The view of the canal / river from our window was so amazing! A great peaceful weekend escape from the city!

Room Tip: Canal view room...

Have stayed here twice on weekend getaways from Toronto, in the fall and winter. The unobstructed view of the Trent from your window is enough to make the stay worthwhile, with beautiful foliage along the river in the autumn, and cracking river ice (was really cold that night) lulling you to sleep in winter. The friendly, personal service, and the excellent, modern rooms are almost icing on the cake. Not surprised that they seemed to be pretty full both times that I was there.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a room with a river view.

OMG I do love this place. Such a fantastic break from the city. This was my second stay and hopefully not my last. I always in one of the lower water's edge rooms. when you open the drapes in the morning and the sun is beating down on the water rushing by..... it is simply an awe inspiring way to start a day. the rooms are very modern and tastefully decorated with great amenities. add to the scenic area with the trent waterway, the chocolate factory! and the huge cheese store, and it was the perfect weekend again.

The Water's Edge Inn is like a boutique hotel in the middle of nowhere! Tastefully appointed & exceptionally clean rooms; breath-taking views overlooking the Trent River; a friendly and accomodating staff - as well as wonderful little touches like a generous assortment of high-end toiletries, a Keurig coffee maker, and lots and lots of fluffy towels. Have visited in the fall and winter and look forward to returning in the spring or summer for another "weekend getaway" with my partner. Bravo!

Room Tip: Ask for a room right on the river.

Booked the room but was not able to stay - do be wary of their cancellation policy. Looks like a lovely spot in otherwise bleak options in small-town Ontario, but their unusual 48 hour cancellation policy is very restricting. Not checking their VM for 24 hours is also problematic when being charged for cancelling...IOW got charged when 24 hour notice was given (very unlikely to happen anywhere else).

Had no great expectations of decent accommodation in Campbellford, but, how delightful to be proven totally wrong. The outside appearance is comparatively plain, but, well kept and clean. The rooms we booked were outstanding: very clean; well laid out; excellently appointed; and, with excellent views onto the Trent-Severn. The beds were very comfortable, and the linens very high quality. The bathroom was well equipped, and the selection of toiletries and sundries would put many a high-end hotel to shame. The rooms have small fridges, which is extremely handy, and the Keurig coffee maker was an added bonus. There is free wi-fi, which worked well, as well as the usual TV, in the room. Staff were friendly and helpful. All in all, a it's a motel/inn which is definitely worth a stay, and which I would recommend unreservedly.

Room Tip: All rooms overlook the river.

All rooms are just as promised but an extra bonus is having one with a lovely view over the Trent River plus a deck from which to enjoy it.

Room Tip: Pick a room with a view overlooking the river.
