We recently stayed at this B & B. The hosts,Ken and Priscilla were charming, as was the century old home they have restored for travelers to enjoy.Even though the home has been restored, they kept the 'century old' feel to it. Ken and Priscilla made us feel welcome from the minute we walked in the door. We stayed in the Cavelle Room.which is one of the rooms that did not have a tub, rather, a shower. BUT it worked for us.The room was bright, decorated with lovely 'old' style furniture and had a very comfortable queen bed. Breakfast was excellent, and we dined with the other guests in an informal setting. It was a great experience, and we intend to go back to this B & B. Thanks Ken and Priscilla! L & B B

Me and my husband loved it here. Priscilla was a wonderful hostess, she stored our bicycles in her garage to keep them safe for us (we were travelling by bike). Everything about this B&B was perfect. Beautiful room, private bathroom, confortable bed, excellent breakfast (although my husband found it not quite filling enough). I especially loved the Kureg right outside our bedroom door, and the comfy bathrobes. We planned our next day's trip while sipping tea our on the deck. Within walking distance of restaurants (5 min) and beach (15-20 min).

My husband and I chose Silken Retreat for a night this past summer. We were so impressed with the entire experience. Ken and Priscilla were charming and interesting hosts who attended to all our needs. The beautiful century home has been renovated to include modern ammenities without sacrificing charm and history (Lady Eaton used to stay here!). We had access to a lovely balcony in the evening where we sipped wine and watched the stars. The breakfast was exceptional and included a delicious smoothy made from local berries and yummy waffles. We wouldn't hesitate to return or to recommend this to our friends.

Looking to have some down time, if you love a gorgeous veranda to sit on and have your coffee, or perhaps in the garden this is the place for this. The rooms have been lovingly refurbished ask Priscilla for those details. Just a wonderful holiday and close to the beach. Plan to go back again!

Room Tip: I think any room you would stay in would be perfect!

I had the opportunity to stay at Silken Retreat a few weeks ago. The purpose of the retreat was to work on a writing project in serene, comfortable and clean surroundings, and Silken was the perfect choice! From the outside, Silken looks like a perfectly preserved Victorian home--there's a wrap-around porch that just begs for you to relax on in the cushioned swing-chair, and a backyard-patio where you can put your feet up and sip a glass of wine. Inside, the rooms feature their own en suite bathrooms, super-high-thread count bedding, and beautiful, big windows to enjoy the view. But the absolute best thing for me was how clean the rooms were. Everything was pristine. And the breakfasts--delicious! For a coffee-addict like me, being able to enjoy a Keurig brew in the privacy of my room, AND a latte with breakfast in the dining room, was pure heaven. All in all, Silken was an excellent choice for me--it was a writing retreat that felt like a luxury getaway. I'll go back again for sure!

MM.

This B&B is first-rate. Have stayed at many B&B's and this place outshines them all. Located in town within walking distance to everything, including the beach. Hosts Priscilla and Ken are charming, and what a wonderful restoration job they have done on this B&B. Every room is stunning and meticulously decorated, from the fresh flowers to the soothing colours. And the modern amenities abound…..luxurious comfort with all the extras (e.g. personal toiletries, plush bedding, a mini-fridge, and a Keurig). A+ on presentation and cleanliness. The service was impeccable, as was the gourmet breakfast. Had a lovely stay and will return.

Just returned from a two-night stay at Silken Retreat. This place is perfection. From the feather-top bed to the Jacuzzi tub, this B&B has EVERY modern convenience you could ask for. And it’s charming as can be---as are the hosts (who also speak French). Rooms are quite private, each with (meticulously clean) ensuite bath. Décor is modern, elegant, and serene; it feels like my favourite spa. Spent time sitting on the covered porch, second floor balcony (watching fireworks!), and even in the garden under the trees. There are plenty of places to relax and put your feet up after a day at the beach. Free Wi-Fi, a Keurig coffee station, and a mini fridge are definite perks. Breakfast was top-notch. Had a smoothie, fresh fruit, home-made banana bread, yogurt, and granola, followed by eggs benedict. It was scrumptious! Very peaceful and comfortable with all the amenities of the best 5-star hotel. Highly recommended and will definitely return!
