We stayed only one night at the Huron Motor Lodge but would loved to have been able to stay longer. The location was perfect as we had come off of the Chi Chee-Maun Ferry. The staff were very friendly and thoughtful. The rooms were sparkling clean and quite quaint with the retro-look. I wouldl recommend this location for anyone who does not the need the glitz of a 5 star hotel.

My husband and I spent a night here before catching the ferry. We were pleasantly surprised with this last minute booking. Hotel is older, but has been well taken care of. True, there is no air conditioning, coffee, or shampoo, but room was clean and comfortable. We had a nice view and walking to restaurants and the ferry. Pool was beautiful, but weather was too cool. Also, we don't recommend fish and chips, very disappointing.

This is the second year in a row we have stayed at this enchanting little village! This motel, lodge meets the needs from, cabin, rooms, and the best a room with a lovely deck overlooking the harbour! The room was clean, well appointed, extremely comfortable beds! Each room has delightful chairs and some with cute little table to relax! Don't worry about the lack of air conditioning believe me the breeze in your room is enough! Wonderful coffee shop, up to date, great coffee, or your fav. Keurig, super icecream, desserts, little items for a light reasonable breakfast, a breakfast sand which, toast or bagels. Clean, clean! The owners are a lovely couple and their young granddaughter is a super help, got me on wifi! Oh yes free wifi that works! Bonus! Attached is a lovely shop with all sorts of gifts and surprises to delight a tourist, no junkie items all beautiful! All your needs are here for a relaxing get away, what the ferry to Tobermorey come and go! Or hop on! We stay here, travel to Providence Bay, and see the sights! If you feel like a dip in the water, there is also a great pool, clean! So this lodge get a triple A from from us! Thanks for this little piece of serenity! I call the pool fitness centre!

Room Tip: Love room number 1 a little more money but we so enjoyed our own deck worth every penny! I like the...

Very convenient location if you are taking the ferry in the morning. They have you over a barrel though with the price. My parents had stayed at a B&B in this area, so we tried to find it, but it apparently wasn't in business anymore. Our room was 'quaint' and typical of the mid-60's. It had a musty odor, as can be expected so close to the water, but not overpowering. Everything was very clean. The staff was very helpful and the gift shop was very nice with the most reasonable prices of any gift store I've visited recently. If the room price wasn't so high, I'd probably go back to stay for a few days and enjoy their pool and explore the island more.

Room Tip: Although extremely convenient while waiting for the early morning ferry, DO NOT buy breakfast from t...

Our family of four stayed here July 2012 for one night and most part of a day.

Check-in: Quick and friendly (elderly Lady).

Room: On a scale of one to ten, would rate it a 6. Don't expect new rooms, modern decor or updated bathrooms. Think Grandmothers cottage room in the boondocks. Room was clean, comfortable and had a small fridge.

Gift shop: Awesome! I normally don't waste money on gift shops...but this one had unique jewellery, tshirts, mocassins etc that I just loved. Many were hand made items.

Coffee shop: Saw lines of people getting coffee and tea, We had ice-creams which were amazing!! Known locally for their range of ice-creams, so try one of them.

Location: You can literally see the Ferry docking from the street in front of the hotel. Couldn't see it from our room, but not sure about other rooms. Just walk when the Ferry docks!

We would stay here again. Great short stay!

$125. per night, seniors rate. Shabby room, washroom you can barely turn around in. No air conditioning, no coffee maker, no shampoo, not even any Kleenex!!! Travelling two weeks from Vancouver Island and this is by far the worst. No choice due to catching the ferry. It looked good on paper.
The staff tried their best to be helpful but didnt have much to work with.

Room Tip: Do your research and make reservations.

Great location, right by the ferry. Very clean and beautiful rooms. Pool, ice machine and wifi (although they don't advertise this). Great place to stay either before or after your trip on the ferry! They have a variety of rooms that can fit lots of people if needed and right by lots of great places to eat!
