Wonderful, charming Inn. Great staff, great location. The shopping is great in Westport, but there are other things to do as well such as hiking Foley Mountain close by, visiting Chaffy's and Jones Falls locks. The food at the Inn was pub type fare but tasty. They make a mean hot turkey sandwich, with real turkey gravy- yum, yum. We will definitely be back in the future!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 21 which was over the outdoor patio. There was live music in the afternoon but thi...

Had an awesome weekend at the Cove Inn. Loved the house across the street with bayview. I think the best thing is that they are flexible. My mother (86 years old) and I went for a girls weekend - didn't want to do the dining room first night - no problem - ordered food and ran across the street and picked up dinner (on plates, etc.) and ate out on the deck of the house across the street. Very friendly staff and excellent accommodations - going back in August with a girlfriend!

The only thing I would change would be a partnership with the spa to have toiletries in the room - I expected them and left my stuff at home - they gave me stuff, but I think it is a lost marketing opportunity for both businesses.

Room Tip: queen room in the house overlooking the bay - with a separate front room with a jacuzzi (lots of spa...

Four of us try to get away twice a year - and usually go to a different place each time. This time we picked this B&B. While we were not in the main building, ours was quaint and well furnished in keeping with a 140 year old structure. The common rooms were comfortable and nicely furnished as well. Did not miss the television, as the weather allowed us to spend most of our time outdoors. However had it rained, television probably would have been a welcome addition to each room. The free WiFi was a welcome bonus.

Unfortunately there was no closet so hanging clothing cluttered up the already small room. I found the bathroom to be very, very small and in need of a facelift. The floor mat by the shower stall could have used a good washing. As well, the sink being in the same room with the beds was not ideal, nor are the soap dispensers that are mounted on the walls. I was a little surprised to see that the towels and faceclothes were in short supply. We had to find a linen closet and replenish ours as there was only one facecloth in the room.

We chose the package that included breakfast, and the breakfast was adequate, and what was supposed to be hot, was. However breakfast for only one hour in the morning meant that the room gets crowded and the lines get long to get food. As well, it was common to run out of some of the items offered, and another wait was needed until more food was prepared.

On the positive side, the grounds were beautiful and the view of the water was very relaxing. We enjoyed sitting out the first evening we were there, and we were able to eat our meal outside as the weather was perfect.

The staff is extremely friendly and if I ever go back there again, it would be because of the staff. The location of this B&B is ideal as it is very close to everything else in Westport.

What a wonderful weekend! This was my and my boyfriend's first time here. We stayed in room 27, with two beds and it was lovely. The room was quaint with hardwood floors, we just loved the style.

We checked in Friday night, and after we got settled, my boyfriend proposed!!! After making numerous phone calls, we went down to the pub and sat out on the patio for drinks.

Saturday & Sunday mornings breakfasts were great. Dinner was excellent, especially the live music.

All of the staff here were beyond wonderful and we loved the town of Westport.

If you are considering going here, don't think any further, just book it!

We had our last girls weekend at this Inn in Westport. The rooms were wonderful with a nice European touch of putting a canister of Port in each room with real wine glasses. There was no TV but free WiFi and we could use our cell phones. We sat outside the first evening on the water front and ate our takeout dinner. They have a lovely dining room but we have only had our free breakfasts there. Unfortunately we are only staying two nights otherwise we would have utilized the dining room more. There are sitting rooms, decks and gardens for you to enjoy. The swimming pool looked inviting but we didn't go in. The house we stayed in was built in 1860 and is full of antiques.

Room Tip: We booked late and got the last rooms but if we had our choice we would ask for rooms 22 and 23.

I stayed at the Cove for 4 fun filled days in May just before the Victoria Day weekend and along with two girlfriends we occupied two rooms on the second floor which included the one with the lounge area. We are fast approaching the time when we will all be "seniors" so our visiting is important. This is a charming place, very very old and a bit rustic but the owners have done their best to make it comfortable and ongoing renos prove that. Having read the other reviews I can agree that during the night, inconsiderate guests might be disturbing but for the most part we had good sleeps every night. Mary,Terry and staff were so nice that we forgot any issues that we might have had and the Thursday night Jazz session is a real treat and totally over by 11p.m. for the convenience of guests. The rooms are miticulously clean and the restaurant fare is better than many. Westport, itself is a jewel in the near wilderness and the shops are second to none for product and far and away superior in the kind and helpful people we found everywhere we shopped. The entire Rideau Lakes area is beautiful with lakes and nature at its finest and so close to our nations capitol that a visit is a must. I would surely return to the Cove and Westport and fully intend to.

Room Tip: choose the one room with a lounge if you want to have a TV of your own.

On the first weekend of November my wife and I planned a short get away to Westport, Ontario and had made reservations at a B&B a few kilometers outside of the Town. We picked the place based on its quiet location and traveller reviews. Unfortunately, when we arrived the place was deserted with no one around and after a few anxious hours we learned that our reservation had been misplaced and since we would have been the only guests the owner herself had left for the weekend.

Fortunately we were familiar with the Cove Country Inn in Westport and stopped by late on the Thursday evening to see if they had space for us on short notice. The hostess for the evening was most understanding and provided us with a room with gas stove and jacuzzi - just what we wanted. Our thanks to the Cove Country Inn for saving our almost spoiled get away weeend,

As other reviews have stated the Cove Country Inn is an older facility but the rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. The B & B breakfasts all theree days were simple but prepared to perfection by a friendly young man (Shamus) who is a member of the Owner's family.
On Sturday evening we enjoyed local musical entertainment while having dinner in their dining room.

Room Tip: Several rooms in the Annex have lake views and are also very private.
