If you are a fan of the book or any of the many films of Anne of Green Gables, then you will probably love visiting the Green Gables home in Cavendish, PEI, where many of the stories of Anne Shirley took place. Walk the grounds where Anne with an "e" played, where Anne met her "bosom friend" Diane and her "Kindred Spirit" Matthew Cuthbert. Walk through the home where Marilla Cuthbert grew to love Anne and raised her as her own. A wonderful home that pays homage to a wonderful story.

Read all of the books and watched the show. It left me wanting.

The house was really cool. So fancy and interesting but ...overall, It wasn’t about the author beyond her quotes and it wasn’t about Anne’s story. The video was a collection of quotes that you can read on the two 1/2 mile walks through lovers lane and the haunted woods.

The little cafe was ok but there is so much better food in the local bakeries, I’d wait to eat. The gift shop was really big and kitschy.

We did see a beautiful fox on the way in.

First thing - they are constructing a large facility at the entrance, which will house site administration, a gift shop, restaurant as well as the entrance/exit to the attraction. The attraction remains open during this construction - the construction posed no real problems.
The house is really interesting, and we felt that you could really 'see' or 'feel' the story, looking out her window. The furnishing in the house were also quite interesting. There were staff members inside the house, and they were willing to point out things and explain the maintenance & restoration & upkeep of the home, furnishings & surroundings. Interestingly, the lands around the property belong to the local golf course, which seems to add to the overall park-like & historically accurate feel. There are also a few fun things, like a horse cart, with a bonnet (with braids attached) for photo opportunities.

We took this excursion from the cruise ship. *not fully handicap accessible- trails being paved for wheelchair access *It was really neat to see the house and area that the books were set in. Quaint country side and charming, old house decor of the period. Nice trails for a short nature walk and the bus ride up and back included lots of narration about local history. The tour also stopped along the national parks and beaches that were written of in the Anne of Green Gables stories. Beautiful part of the world.

Awesome experience! We had a private tour due to being off season. It was a great way to see this historical place. I would HIGHLY recommend a visit in off season with one of the excellent park rangers!
