We stopped here for lunch, fell in love with the place, and ended up staying the night! We wished we could have stayed longer. It is a beautiful place, the food was excellent, and the service was exceptional.

My husband and I just got back from our vacation that included 4 nights at Dalvay. What a place!

It reminded me (inside) of Gone with the Wind movies. The huge fireplaces, oversized staircases, beautiful surroundings. What really impressed us was the service and the food! OH MY!! The food presentation was almost as good as the taste of it. And the staff really has it down to a fine art. So friendly yet professional.

The grounds at Dalvay are beautiful and very well kept. The first day we were there I don't think I even moved from the adirondack chairs overlooking the water. It's a retreat into itself. No tv's, no phones, no disturbances.

We got to peek into some of the rooms. Each one is different. We stayed in room 13 (didn't think they even had 13 anymore but they did). It was very large on the third floor. Don't be panicked by the amount of stairs. They take your heavy bags up and bring them back for you and it was very quiet up there. Our bathroom was rather small, but if that's the worst I can say about the place then I'll take it!

If you're looking for a lively place with tons to do, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for a wonderful retreat to rest, relax and rejuvenate then you HAVE to go to Dalvay. Just be prepared to gain 5 lb. on your visit! So worth it though.

My husband and I stayed a week at the hotel. It’s a got wonderful, friendly, personal service. The rooms are charming, well kept up and they are perfectly quiet. Our room had a view of the little lake as well as the beach. It’s a gorgeous, beach, uncrowded to the point of emptiness. The dinner was brilliant every night—local ingredients, creative cuisine, lovely wine list. We looked forward to a relaxing hour of drinks on the lawn before dinner, and lovely walks on the beach after dinner. Lots of families come back every year and the whole place had a great family feel. Highly recommend.

We stopped in for lunch at Dalvay by the Sea because it was recommended, and because we were tired of all the bad meals we'd had on PEI up to that point. We thought we'd go all-out and splurge for lunch rather than dinner there (lunch menus are usually priced more reasonably).
The meal we had was exquisite, the best we experienced in our whole entire stay of 1 week on the island.
The waitstaff was friendly, helpful and professional. We ordered fish and it was cooked to perfection, with in-season vegetables artfully arranged on the plate. We had cappucchinos and dessert afterwards that were equally delicious, and we were happily surprised when we received the check - a fabulous meal at a fair price.
The hotel and restaurant are in a lovely setting, right by the water - highly recommend.

We went to the hotel to try their lunch menu, which had been highly recommended. We were not disappointed. The meal and service was excellent. The dining room was beautiful and so were the grounds and gardens. If we have more time next time, I think we would actually stay at the hotel.

A lovely old historic inn beautifully situated just steps from a pristine red sand beach. Cute little shop with work of local artisans on tha grounds. Enjoyed sitting on the big lawn reading and exploring the area. Our daughter especially enjoyed Green Gables. Each day was completed with a gourmet dinner and friendly service in the dining room. Highly recommended.
