This locations is for people who enjoy getting away from city life. It overlooks the water and one can enjoy the beach when there is warm weather. We are an older couple who travel frequently and visiting Prince Edward Island was the first for us. This is the first time we spent the whole experience in B&B stays. This B&B over met our expectations...a very high quality experience. The gracious ambiance of the hostess showed her attention to details. This stay with Marsha guaranteed us wanting to come back and recommendations to friends. It was an unparalleled level of service with an excellent gourmet breakfast. We had food allergies and she pleasantly met our needs....and above some. There were extra cookies, teas and bottled water available. It is a newer property with elegant details through out the house. Our room was private and the experience was very quiet. We felt pampered. The bed was very comfortable with many books to read for pleasure. Every aspect was perfect and the owner is committed to giving her guests warm and hospitable attention. We are more than pleased and find that this B&B is a place to visit again. It is definitely a quality Inn of Distinction.

This Bed and Breakfast was right on the coast. You could sit on the home's screened porch and gaze out at the waves and water. We walked down to the beach 75 yards away and enjoyed an afternoon combing the sand for sea glass. Room was large and well apportioned.

The next morning Marsha prepared an exquisite locally influenced breakfast (Pictured) with potatoes and tomatoes from their garden and sausage from the local butcher.

We stayed at this B&B in September 2012 -actually chose it based on reviews here- and we were not disappointed! It was lovely.
The rooms were extremely clean, decorated with a lot of care, and the owners clearly enjoy operating this property.
We stayed in the main house, there are large common rooms on the main floor - and the kitchen and kitchenette is there, stocked with pop, teas, coffee machine, fruit and snacks - a nice touch for in the evening or early morning. The breakfast was really nice- formal, and well planned out by the owner. It was very tasty!
There is WiFi in the place, which worked well. The beds were comfortable, and we slept great! I think the only small item we'd comment would be that it would have been nice if there was somewhere to take a stroll in the evening, perhaps to the beach (it is on an island), but that seemed not to be set up. However, a short drive down the road and you'd be at a lighthouse and some places to walk there. We really enjoyed our stay.

Maplehurst is a gem! The hostess Marsha is fabulous and such a caring person with such culinary skills. Her husband Bob is very helpful and grows fabulous veggies! The B & B is a 10+ and we will certainly recommend Maplehurst. Wonderful clean and spacious rooms, with lots of space to wonder within the house and the grounds. Finally a web site that is true! Also the kitchen parlour is open for snacks, home baked goodies for their guests- there was absolutely nothing we needed for our stay everything was provided with a smile. Will definitely return!

Room Tip: No airconditioning but breeze from the ocean and ceiling fans seemed to work well. There is no pool...

You will not be disappointed in any aspect of your experience at Maplehurst. It is a gorgeous home, very well decorated and appointed, and the breakfast is outstanding - as a matter of fact, everything about the home is outstanding. The property sits on an expanse of lawn that faces the ocean, and you can easily walk to the beach to look for sea glass or just to dip your toes in the ocean. The accommodations are first class, everything is spotless, and the location is gorgeous. We were able to have a light dinner at a small beachside restaurant just about 5 min down the road and enjoyed a spectacular sunset. Marsha strives to attend to each guest, and her husband was very pleasant as well. My husband and I (who frequent B&Bs) and another couple (who do not but are now sold on them) sure did. Go and enjoy yourselves.

Room Tip: Quiet area - room locations are not an issue, although king bedded rooms have ocean views but were n...

Maplehurst Cottage is THE cottage to stay in if you appreciate having absolutely everything you could possibly need in the way of kitchen amenities, comfort, tranquillity, views, and extremely attentive, friendly hosts! My husband and I would highly recommend a week or more stay here. Firstly, Marsha welcomed us with open arms (literally) upon our arrival and made us feel like long lost family. This was followed by some homemade treats in the cottage itself and lots of information that helped make our PEI stay enjoyable. She continued to make herself available at the main b&b to answer questions, help charge electronics, etc. Though the cottage didn't have wi-fi, the b&b was open for our use of our laptop and that was just steps away. The cottage itself was very comfortable, with a soft couch and comfy chairs downstairs, a large dining table that offered lovely views of the water, a cozy twin bedroom with its own adjacent bathroom that housed a washer and dryer, a wonderful loft bedroom upstairs, again with a fantastic view of the ocean and its own well equipped bathroom and storage area for clothes. Having your own little tv and vcr was an added bonus upstairs. Anything we mentioned to Marsha was immediately taken care of. For example, the phone in the cottage had sticky keys that made it difficult to phone out and, by the end of that same day, a new phone was in place. She also moved immediately on our suggestion that a dvd player in the downstairs living room would be a helpful addition to the already existant vcr. The cottage's location was a bit remote but the extra little drive to places was well worth it. Try it and we guarantee you'll love the experience!!!!! mel & michael from barrie, ontario

This was a wonderful find. The lovely home and surroundings and the attention to detail were amazing. It's such a beatifully decorated home. The guest room was spacious with two comfortable chairs to sit by the window. In addition, there was a wonderful library, screened porch, sun room and parlour available for guests to use. Marsha is a wonderful hostess. Not only was breakfast delicious, but the Butler pantry was well stocked and also had some freshly made Chocolate Zuchini bread and other goodies to enjoy. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer
