We had the pleasure to spend a four-day weekend in August 2010 at Maplehurst - our third stay at this delightfully elegant B & B. Marsha and Bob are wonderful hosts, blending both Southern and PEI hospitality.
Mapelhurst has an idyllic, tranquil setting on Panmure Island - it truly is a private location, fronting directly on the Northumberland Strait. Low tide provides ample opportunity to explore the sand bar for starfish and sea birds. The stunning sunsets truly are a highlight as well.
Marsha takes great delight in serving delicious breakfasts - the menu changes each day. You will also be treated to Rum cake and other wonderful desserts available in the Butler's pantry throughout the day.
The rooms at the front of the house provide private decks to enjoy the view of the water. the rooms themselves are spotless and very nicely furnished. You will enjoy refreshing sea breezes at night - nature's air conditioning! A screened sunroom on the first floor provides a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine, meet other guests or read a book.
There are also two other large public rooms to enjoy on the first floor in addition to the formal dining room where breakfast is served.More
