Gîte la Mer la Montagne is an absolute must stay when in Carleton-sur-Mer... And Carleton-sur-Mer is a must-see place when travelling the Gaspé peninsula because of this place. Alice and Roger are incredible hosts with wonderful recommendations about things to see and do and places to eat. My husband and I were recently there with our four month old daughter and we couldn't have been more comfortable. Suite 5 on the top floor affords incredible privacy free from any noise of other guests or the road, with a balcony overlooking the water; while Suite 4 provides an amazing soaker tub and a spacious room. Breakfast is simple and delicious with fantastic coffee! Alice and Roger have the only place on the water in town and from their back door you can access the pedestrian walking paths. Amazing value for the experience and when we return to the Gaspé, we would make a point of planning a stop in Carleton-sur-Mer just to stay here again.
(It's also the Perfect place to watch a Habs hockey game!)
