This large restaurant overlooks the bay and serves excellent food at very reasonable prices. The staff are helpful and Carmen the owner speaks English. We ate there on two occasions and each time the food was freshly prepared in an extremely efficient kitchen. The set menu is great value and the clientele is both locals and tourists. Staff made us feel very welcome and were attentive.

This is a large restaurant - in what was once a train station. The food is basic roadhouse but with more seafood than you might otherwise find. Chef likes to do stuff with blue cheese. A well trained staff. Beware of the soft rock music!

We had dinner there expecting to eat outside on the nice terrace! It is more a smoking area than a real terrace! So, we ate inside, the service was good and the food average. Not bad, ordinary.

There are many good restaurants in La Malbaie, the Café de la Gare is more down to earth. Poutine, spare ribs, steaks well done and offered at a fair price. The service is friendly and helpful. Can be recommended for an easy dinner at the Fleuve.

We came upon the restaurant looking for the walking path along the river. It was simple and clean. We had fish and chips for lunch and it was great. The fish tasted fresh, and, it was crisp. The waitress was friendly and helpful. A good mainstay for a simple, inexpensive meal on the river in a no frills atmosphere.
