I decided to rent this house due to the amount of space in the house itself, the view and because it was pet friendly. It was perfect to accommodate all of us, they have everything you need for cooking and plenty of trays for serving and with a large dining room for all of us to enjoy together. Plenty of beds, towels, speakers in 4 different rooms can be selected when you listen to music, games, hot tub just to name a few. There's also a nice stone built Plato to the right of the house with a gazebo, a large propane grill, small fireplace and exceptional view! The owners; Greg and Jen were very pleasant and easy to work with. It was great to be reunited with family, we created great memories at this house! We would definitely go back!
We were looking for a quick get away for a few short days. Last minute, but Greg and Jennifer were so accommodating. They thought of everything for us, even a dog bed for our pooch. We didn't want to go too far from Ottawa, but we wanted to feel far enough that we got a true break from our daily tasks of home and city life. We read, ate, slept, and sat in the hot tub....then we did it all again. The first day was so rainy and chilly, imagine in July, but we put on the fire and read our books. At night we had music playing in the spa room and turned out the lights to see the lights of the city. It was just such a peaceful time. This would be a great spot for a honeymoon, family vacation or a business retreat. Although our focus was to rest and relax, there is so much to do in the area. As well, you are perfectly in the middle of Ottawa and Montreal, and could make day trips to both places. Best of all, the view....spectacular! You have to see it to believe it!
An absolutely wonderful oasis with a breathtaking view. The home is prestine and just perfect.
Our family had so much fun!
There is so much to do as a family. We rode hoses. Bikes. ATV's. We went to the Chateau and enjoyed dinner and swimming.
We played games and laughed a ton.
Thank you Jennifer and Greg.
We had a fantastic time.
Can't wait to go back.
Kelly Sipherd and family.
The house was absolutely perfect everything was just like they told us and I will be back every year till rockfest is no more.
Several families stayed here for July 1 weekend and we were not disappointed. Lots of space for 12 to comfortably sleep and lots of room for meal preparation and dining areas. The hot tub was an excellent bonus. Great cycling in the area, and wonderful food and shopping in the Montebello village. An hour commute back and forth to Ottawa, but certainly close enough for accessibility and large enough to host many friends for a farewell BBQ after the weekend ended.
This is the forth time I have taken my staff here for a weekend retreat and again it was FAB! It is relaxing, warm, luxurious and welcoming! we have already talked out next years booking and are looking to go in the fall to Wittness the beautiful fall
Leaves! Highly recommend this place you will LOVE it! We had 10 women stay and had room to spare and the hot tub just tops it all off
We spent five wonderful days between Christmas and New Year's at Far Horizons. The house was terrific--the perfect place for a family reunion, with a warm gas fireplace and comfortable living room, beautiful view over the Valley, plenty of cozy places for reading, and an open and efficient kitchen. In fact, the pictures don't do the house justice; there are fine views from every room, and under a blanket of snow the house itself is even more charming. The hot tub was welcome after a walk in the woods, a visit to the park, or cross country skiing. Greg and Jen were most helpful, easy to contact, generous with guidance. Montebello, the town, with lodge, park, chocolaterie, well-stocked grocery and Le Bistro, had everything we needed. Roads, even with five inches of snow, were well tended, and we had no problems with a two-wheel drive.
