If you’re not in area don’t make special trip. It is big and beautiful. Haven’tseen anything like it in Canada. But I enjoyed the outside look of it. Lots of parking and right off the highway.

This is an absolutely beautiful church with stunning ceilings and stained glass. It is quite large and impressive. Known for its healthing work take note of the crutches, canes, walkers and wheel chairs mounted on the walls as evidence of the special powers. Do not miss the sanctuary downstairs which is quite modern with gorgeous tile mosaics. A must see. My husband finds it the most beautiful church he has ever seen!

We tacked the visit to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre onto our day trip out of Quebec City on a recommendation from another stop and were glad we made the trip. We were probably most taken by the mosaics on the ceiling of the entry way. It was the most unusual and beautiful collection of animals and other unique pictures! The main sanctuary was also amazing in it's size and artistry but those mosaics were a highlight for us.

Not to be missed, such a magnificent structure and the inside, very ornate, so much to see. It seems as if every nook and corner had something. This building, inside and out is a photographers dream......you could spend several hours here.
Do pick up a guide map, very helpful and if there is a tour guide, stop and listen to them explain about the church and its history.
Outside and behind the church is a gift shop and restrooms.

My wife and I have been to many churches all over the world.
This is in my opinion the most awesome structure I have ever seen. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to worship in this sacred place. Out of any major city ( but close to Quebec City) it is truly amazing to find such a place. No matter your faith, you should see this place. Started by sailors to honor their patron saint, it is truly amazing.
