Ranked #9 of 10 Sutton B&B and Inns

Gill was a knowledgeable, flexible and wonderful host. This is a low-key inn with only three rooms and we liked that. The room was nice and clean although not fancy. We had a blast hanging on the porch and reading in the swing and socializing with the other guests. We were on our bikes and Gill was knowledgeable about good bike roads. His breakfasts were healthy, generous and good. Quinoa waffles!...just a choice...he will always make you eggs any way as well. We got soaked and he let us use his washer dryer. A bit beyond downtown but nice and quiet because of that. We found Gill very interesting and enjoyed our stay very much.

We stayed at the 'Gite aux Douceurs Matinales' for one night in March 2013 and couldn't have hoped for more. The B&B is in a very central location, only a 5-minute walk for all amenities, shops and restaurants in the center of Sutton. If you're looking for rustic and charming accommodation with a true country feel, then this is the place for you.
Gilles, the owner, was extremely friendly and flexible to our specific needs (we arrived when he was not there but he had arranged for us to get the keys to our room, 'Le Muguet'). He was happy to recommend the best antique stores in the region and made us feel very welcome. He also turned out to be a terrific cook and his breakfast waffles exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was plentiful, fresh, healthy and very carefully prepared. The room was simply furnished but very comfortable. Contrary to the previous commenter, we really enjoy harder mattresses with loads of pillows and blankets, so everything was great. The room also has a shared bathroom (with those staying in the room 'La Lavande'), which was small but neat and very clean. There is a shared fridge for all guests (there are 3 rooms in total) and boardgames, books etc. in the common area.
Only downside is the noise factor. Although the main street is not very busy compared to Montreal, the walls are fairly thin so you may have some issues if you're not a deep sleeper.
In short - if you're not looking for a luxury accommodation but rather for a cozy, rustic and charming place with homemade food and simplicity, then the 'Gite aux Douceurs Matinales' is 100% right for you. With only $80 a night (for 2 people, including tax and breakfast), this is great value for money! We will definitely recommend to our like-minded friends and family.

Room Tip: The rooms 'Le Muguet' and 'La Lavande' share a bathroom, so if you're looking fo...

The house was located on the main street, a short distance beyond Maple street, the street to Mont Sutton. It was an older house, a bit rustic & furnished with lots of antiques & knick knacks. We had the La Calendule room with the ensuite washroom. The bed was oriented at an odd angle in the room & the ensuite washroom was tiny. Everything was clean. Although my wife didn't seem to mind, the bed was super hard that even the beds in hotels in Asia felt plush! Had to lay down 2 blanket layers before I was able to catch some Zs. Due to the B&B on the main street, we heard every vehicle that rolled by throughout the night: trains, snow plows, trucks, cars... The hot breakfasts were served every morning at 8am and were hardy, very filling and tasty. We had the use of dinning room for a refreshing cup of afternoon tea during the time after skiing and before dinner. The living room was also available to us to relax in. We bought the Ski-DoDo-Ski package for 1.5 days of skiing at Mont Sutton for 1 night of lodging and we stayed 2 extra nights so we could ski Owl's Head. Although our Ontario legs lack the stamina, if you're up to it, ski the 1st day at Owl's Head, then ski the 2nd day at Sutton and ski the half day at Sutton on the 3nd and final check out day.

Room Tip: Very good value if bought as a ski & lodging package. But due to its location, it will be a noi...
