The chef has the perfect personality for running a restaurant! He is super friendly (but not in your face) and on several occasions has let us sample some of his daily specials as a treat (no charge). The menu is a quite limited but anything that we've had has been excellent.

We went to the chef tasting with wine pairings on February 15th, 2018. It was a delightful meal. The first course was salad with a Mexican sparkling wine - perfect. Then was a spicy pasta with a Sicilian red wine. After that was marrow with a Mexican red blend which also went with the main course. I had the rabbit and my husband had the duck. The portions on the main course were quite large. I cannot say that I liked the marrow much but it was very interesting and well presented with warm tortillas. We both loved the main courses but they were difficult to finish (but I did!). The dessert was a pair of chocolates with a Mexican Cabernet. They were small and we were full, so they were not too much to eat. The cost was $765 MXN which also included the tip and it was a lot for the money. In the US this meal would have been at least 2.5 times more. I asked our hosts to please do these dinners every month as they are exactly what we are looking for as a fine dining experience. The location is west Ajijic so an easy walk for us. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor tables. BTW - their pizzas are excellent and it is closed on Wednesdays.

This restaurant is operated by two young men who work as a team to provide excellent food and service. The eating area inside is small but charming and there is a nice outside space to sit as well. The Italian salad was delicious and was enough for three to share. Similarly, the thin crust pizza was sharable for at least two people. I am looking forward to trying their pasta made with locally harvested fungi.

Enjoyed our meal. The salad was fresh and large. The sourdough pizza crust is wonderful. Lots of pepperoni. The service was excellent and the chef made a point of saying goodbye and thank you. Will go again!
