“Casita again, of course!”
Reviewed 24 March 2014

For the third time we stayed here and loved it just as much as the first time, this B&B will meet all of your expectations in relaxation and location, easy to get to the center of the village and the Malecon which is one block away. The owners cater to the guests request with made to order breakfast every morning. The local roosters were even quitter than our previous visits. You will be well pleased with this selection.

Room Tip: of the three we prefer the Casita which is off the main house.

We visited Eleanor & Rick’s B&B for 6 nights in March 2014 and had the most relaxing week of holidays. Our rooms were very spacious with a flat screen TV, fireplace, huge bathroom, closet, and fridge. We had the most comfortable king bed with a fantastic view from the window and balcony of the Cyprus trees and mountains in the distance.

Eleanor served a full delicious breakfast every morning...the options we could choose from included fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc. We were provided with a map of Ajijic and Eleanor was very helpful in providing directions to places to visit and the best restaurants.

It was truly paradise in their tropical gardens of palm trees and beautiful flowers. We relaxed and listened to the birds singing and the peaceful surroundings and enjoyed the occasional swim in the pool.

We highly recommend this fabulous B&B and would love to return someday.

Thank you Eleanor and Rick for making this a most enjoyable vacation!

We stayed at Quinta del Sol after spending a week at another B&B that ended poorly. What a relief and vacation saver Eleanor and Rick were to us. They are the most hospitable couple we have ever met. We felt welcome in their home from our first evening there. Their home is beautiful. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable.

When we look for a property, we look for cleanliness, location, quiet rooms, comfortable beds and bedding, hot water, and fluffy towels. Quinta del Sol met and exceeded our expectations in every category! Eleanor's breakfast are amazing. Name it, and she will make it for you. My wife and I were spoiled staying here.

If you're looking for a premium property that is walking distance from everything in Ajijic, you will not be disappointed with Quinta del Sol. It'll truly be your home in Ajijic while you're there.

Room Tip: Every room is great.

We stayed with Eleanor and Rick for a week in March 2014. This was out first visit to Lake Chapala. We selected Quinta del Sol online because it was located an easy walk to Lake Chapala and the center of the Village and all of the wonderful shops and restaurants there. We stayed in the room called La Mariposa on the second floor . . . it was perfect with it's own deck overlooking the beautiful grounds. Breakfast was a real treat . . . each morning Eleanor would ask what we would like, offering everything from oatmeal to omelets to fresh fruit to pancakes to French toast to . . . well the list is just to long to recite here. Unless you would enjoy a freshly made smoothie . . . they were delicious. We are definitely going back . . . sooner than later.

After trying out about half a dozen B&Bs in Ajijic on subsequent visits, we found Quinta del Sol several years ago. We felt so comfortable there, that we kept going back. Eleanor's breakfasts are always wonderful, and she always offers choices. The beds are comfortable (a big deal) and the rooms very private. They even have gas fire places, though we have never been cold enough to light it. The house is architecturally beautiful. The location is just far enough away from the center of town to make it a little quieter, but still an easy walk to shopping and the lakefront. Eleanor is always helpful and keeps a list of local restaurants. We will definitely go back.

What a wonderful place to stay! I was in town for several days visiting family and friends. I stayed at Quinta del Sol for 5 nights, and they were perfect: a beautiful room, an incredibly comfy bed, a lovely, private balcony overlooking the lush garden and breakfast every morning that was unforgettable. Freshly squeezed juices, home-baked biscuits and breads, pancakes, french toast, fresh fruit, smoothies, eggs, bacon..whatever your heart desires. An amazing start to the day. And, Eleanor, (the amazing chef and consummate host) helped with any and every question about -what to do in town or in the larger area, which restaurants to try, what bus to catch, where to shop, market day, etc. It was wonderful experience and I highly recommend it.

We stayed here on a much needed relaxing get away to warm weather! Wow! We loved every minute of being in Ajijic. Eleanor was a wonderful hostess. Her breakfast was always fabulous. We didn't need to eat again until dinnertime! She had wonderful suggestions of restaurants and things to do in the area. All of the rooms looked lovely. We stayed in the Casita and loved the privacy. The gardents were very well kept and the pool was a welcome treat. We certainly hope to be back.
