We went to manix's for Christmas dinner ,roast suckling pig and turkey. The food was excellent and great service ...bonus was the parking next door. The desserts would meet any standards !!

“Special inedible.”
Reviewed 15 December 2011

WEnt there to hear friends perform and had their Chinese combo special. It was almost inedible--a bunch of colorless, tasteless stuff on our plate. We won't go there again.

“MANIX RESTAURANT - THE Oldest in Ajijic”
Reviewed 14 January 2010

We have lived in Ajijic for 8.5 years. Our Community has a Bi Monthly Dinner group. We dine every 2 weeks only at the better restaurants in Ajijic. You can forget the negative posted by one poster here. MANIX IS the oldest restaurant in Ajijic. Operating 20+ years, so while others come and go yearly, Manix will tremain.

They have a great variety. Tender Veal is impossible to get in Mexico. Manix is the only restaurant that serves Veal many different ways and it's fork tender. Osso Bucco is seved only on Wed & Thurs nights as that is Manixs' Italian nights.

Their other specialties include Pork Loin, Fettucine, Filet Mignon and Shrimp linguine. All meals come with a choice of soup or salad. Prices are very reasonable.

“Average Fair, compare to the rest of your options”
Reviewed 6 December 2009

After due diligence and checking everyone's recommendations for places to eat since I'm such a chow hound and enjoy great food, Manix was added to my list. Now I must add a disclaimer that we visited this restaurant in the midst of the November fiesta celebrating their patron saint and most of the action was in the plaza. Gringos tended to stay at home (why?) but there were only four guests at the restaurant which obviously affected the ambience. So, the food was palatable but certainly not anything you couldn't prepare at home (if you are beyond heating cardboard in your micro) but I have to say it was not memorable or extraordinary enough to consider a re-visit. Now just a few steps further down the same street is Pedro's. Fantastic food, creative, and the SAUCES - wow! Peter, the chef is one talented cook. Just trot the few extra steps and go there instead.
