Armando's has many flambé items on the menu. We went to dinner with a group, and were well taken care of. The food and service were very good, and the flambé items made for dramatic presentation.

We just returned home from a wonderful dinner at Armando's and made a reservation to return in a few days with friends. The service was outstanding. Drinks were icy and potent, and there was a full bar. We shared a Caesar salad, prepared at our table with anchovies, coddled egg, Worcestershire and romaine lettuce tossed, then allowed to sit for a bit for the dressing to mingle with the lettuce. Excellent. We both had shrimp. Mine were empanizado (breaded) and my husband had them in a wine sauce, which Armando said was his favorite. Delicious and a big serving. They offer flaming desserts and we were tempted, but too full. To top it off, Armando sang and wow, he can really sing ! A terrific restaurant, a bit off the beaten path, but well worth your searching. Reasonable too for the quality of the experience.

We were looking for a place close by to the Danza del sol and this place was just around the corner, from the outside it looked like an ok place for diner, the chef Armando prepares everything from his cart at your table, from césar salad, the real dressing using egg yolks the whole recipe, served in a nice diner plate, than comes the pan to get the white wine sauce to go with your shrimps ( camarones ), my taste buds are watering just thinking about it, served with arroz, the taste was so delicious, for desserts, we've enjoyed peach flambé, a délice, prices are very reasonable for the feast we had.
Frankly if Armando's restaurant was located on street in Centro of Ajijic it would refuse reservations !

Armando, who has a great voice and may be coerced into singing is outstanding. The service is fantastic, the dining experience is intimate and special. The food is fantastic. This place still has tableside service, wow!!!!! This is a "do not miss".

Most of the reviews were written when Faye and Amy were running the restaurant. The owner took it back and it no longer livs up to the past reviews.
